I'd be happy to see Routledge go if we get a decent offer for him. I just can't take it seriously that Liverpool are interested.
-
I don't dislike him as much as I thought I would. Still gutted about not having Chris around but based on the JFK appointment I still think Fat Ashley could have got it far worse. Cautiously optimistic.
-
Aye, there doesn't seem to be much playing time for someone who can actually play down in Stoke. Wouldn't mind seeing him up here, reckon he'd be a really good foil for Carroll like.
-
Is it too much to ask that somebody, somewhere is filling up with so much rage that, rather than taking a Sharpie to a bedsheet, he actually seeks out Ashley and kills him? Please, God.

Would love to wake up tomorrow morning and discover that fatboy had a heart attack in his sleep. Pardew. Take your fucking wanker pal Dekka and get the fuck out of our club you lying, cockney cunt.

I still can't help but think this is all just a bad dream. To put his contract into perspective: http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/Teen-gets-4-years-for-murder-victims-family-furious-106923538.html

The terminology used within BBC football's 'Gossip Column'. For e.g. today sees a story from 'footylatest.com', which says "Liverpool are preparing a bid for Colombia striker Teofilo Gutierrez and are willing to pay £6m for the 25-year-old, who plays for Trabzonspor." I just don't understand what 'preparing a bid' means. Years of playing football manager have told me that it's easy putting a bid in for a player. I can't help imagining that 'preparing a bid' means board members up til all hours with money counters getting £6m cash ready. I always thought it'd be easy as: Ring 118 and get Trabzonspor's fax number. Send them a fax "Hi, it's Liverpool. £6m for Gutierrez, Y/N? Fax back" Now that doesn't take much preparing.

We should definitely have a go at them. We're not expected to get a result and Arsenal don't really have a plan B to their 'walk it into the net' plan A. Definitely worth a go at them.

the difference between 8th and 17th is that the higher up you are, the better you are. i'd much much rather finish 8th than 17th. re inuries......ben arfa and harper out long term before we are a quarter way into the season . Injury-wise I meant losing those players we'd really struggle to replace. Tiote for instance, Carroll, Enrique, Colo. And as for being better the higher up you finish, it doesn't matter. In the greater scheme of things, I'm talking about avoiding relegation. Although it'd be nice to finish 8th, so long as we stayed up I'd easily take 17th as I said at the start of the season.
-
Prize money aside, there's little difference between finishing 17th and finishing 8th. No European place up for grabs etc. Granted, it looks a little more appealing to prospective new signings to finish just outside the European berths than just avoiding relegation, but if, at the start of the season, you'd hope to avoid relegation then why would you change your hopes and expectations when it's been such an inconsistent opening quarter? Granted, we've had a couple of very good wins away (Everton and West Ham) and two unbelievable results at home (Villa and the mackems)...but let's not forget the Blackpool, Stoke City and Wigan games. It's so far being a massively inconsistent first quarter of the season. So far we've been lucky with injuries too, long may it continue. I'd absolutely take 17th place.

Is he J lloyd's brother? Is he Jlloyd's cousin? second removed. twat

No chance. He just isn't worth £6m, even if he had 2/3 years left on his contract. Of course he is man. The fact he's English adds at least £3m onto the price, for a start. Aye, the fact he's English wrongly adds value to him.

I think this is what's driving it, pure financial prudence basically. We seem to have worked out what the wage structure needs to be and we're now seeing the effects of it being implemented. Yes, it will mean missing out on some transfer targets. Yes, it will mean some players leaving. On the other hand, it will mean an end to spunking untold millions on overpaid wasters. I don't think Taylor is one of those, but he has to fall into line as well. I, for one, am happy with this. And to use this cunt as an example (not that there haven't been masses more of his kind here) but every time I think about what Michael Owen 'earned' during his time here I feel fucking nauseous.
-
It baffles me that some people think we could get in the region of £5m for a crocked, still unproven defender with less than a year left on his contract.
-
I wouldn't be bothered about the loss of a transfer fee, it's the loss of his wages, his child-like beahaviour, his (alleged) ego that would more than likely work in our favour. At least the board have acted on it now rather than spending the season trying to persuade him to sign for much less money. If we get around the £2m mark for him then it would have been a good decision to list him.
-
English players are always overpriced Aye but his contract is up in 10 months, if someone offered £5m I'd snap their fucking hand off. Can see us getting about £2-3m now or if we're lucky £1-1.5m in January.
-
He hasn't lived up to what I'm sure most of us thought he could have done and £60k a week is a fucking ludicrous demand.
-
Surely he wouldn't sit out a whole year of his career? I fucking hope not.
-
Can see him going to someone like Everton/Birmingham and being just as disappointing there.
