Fucking love his honesty like. Will doubtless be ammunition for the media but a cracking and amusing read for the real football fan because it's pretty much all true. Well done Joey lad

Sure this one has already been done but... http://www.browsebiography.com/images/5/475-Hitzfeld_Ottmar.jpg Falkor from The Never Ending Story http://shotgunkorea.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/falkor.jpg Ottmar Hitzfeld

Aye, all the best to the man. Get well soon.

I thought we had gone in for Puncheon originally? He's done alright so far at Blackpool I think. So long as he doesn't cost us more than £2-2.5m I think he'd be a decent squad player.

Everything is relative. If he'd been on a lousy contract such as Tiote's original deal, he's in his rights to claim a new and improved contract. But the man signed under the previous regime, so he's already well paid. Some reports believe he's on 60 000 a week. He's not worth more. Although he had to stuck with a club in turmoil, we must not forget that he wasn't an instant success. He should remember that one of the reasons for his current development should be ascribed to the fact that the club has continued to play with him, despite some weak displays. The first two seasons he was an unstable performer, with some great displays but also some horrific. This is the first season that he's delivered consistently on the highest level. I want Enrique to stay, but not for all cost. I honestly believe that we're able to find an replacement that could be just as good if given time. We should not offer him ludicrous money. If he wants to quit, it's not because of the money, since he's already well paid. He wants new challenges. Interesting. Sorry, I didn't realise he was on that kind of money to be honest. I thought he had signed just after Ashley's takeover?

This tbh. However much of a cunt he is he's a brilliant leader on the pitch and for goodness sake, all he did was have sex. He isn't the first fella to cheat on his wife and certainly won't be the last but for fuck sake it really doesn't need to be plastered all over the press.

Same reason most players go to 'big' clubs to bench warm £££££££££.
-
I'd hate to see Jose leave, especially to another Premiership team but the most pressing matter at the minute is getting him a new, improved (and deserved) contract.
-
If these press rumours are to be believed and we're in, alongside Liverpool, for Marveaux and van Wolfswinkel it'll be interesting to see who they'd wish to join if they had the option. IMO neither would be a starter at Liverpool (especially vW) but would more than likely be if they came here. As I've mentioned on this forum elsewhere I don't want mercenaries at this club, I want players who WANT to pull on the shirt and WANT to play for the club. If any potential new signings who would more than likely be first XIers are happier to bench warm elsewhere then they're not what we need or want at this club.

A manikin floating the stairs? Fucking creepier than the kit design.

I find it strange that he doesn't stay in Newcastle. What about getting to know his team mates and the city better? I don't think we should underestimate the mental impact of an injury like the one HBA sustained. Who wouldn't want to recuperate in familiar surroundings, close to friends and family? I'd rather him recover and begin to regain fitness somewhere where he's happy and where he knows people well, and then bring him over here when he's ready, both physically and mentally. At the end of the day he's been out injured (and presumably back in France) for three months already when he agreed to sign on a permanent basis, under this wage structure too. This whole thing doesn't concern me in the slightest. Also, as was mentioned in the Graham Carr thread, the way HBA is being treated by the club has come across very positively in the French media too, surely this can only be beneficial when targetting any Ligue 1 players this summer?

This is one of those games where I read as many online match reports as I can get my hands on!!

In some respects I'd have rather this result and the way it came about than if we had won 1–0. I fucking LOVE this football club.

Agreed 100% When the hell is Andy Carroll going to be worth more than £35m? Even if he realises his potential I assume by then there would be some kind of financial regulations in place within football to stop enormous fees in the future. So long as the money is invested in the TEAM in the summer, Ashley did a very good bit of business with the Carroll sale. agree. especially when caroll asked nufc to match the wages liverpool was offering him! atm i like the wage-structure we have....its the only way to progress and it will more or less only attract players who really want to play for us! Yep. Said the same thing myself yesterday. Would be gutted if we broke our wage structure to accomodate a money-hungry player. The wage bill should be a bit less in the championship. Thats where unambitious, badly run clubs wind up. We managed to sign Cheik and Hatem within this structure. Proof that quality players will play for the club without demanding silly money. The wage structure is one of the few things the board have done right to be honest.

Ah that's unfair. He showed good awareness to anticipate Nolan's knockdown, good strength to turn the defender, and above all else, it was a top drawer save.

should never risk anything untill were mathematicaly certain to stay up. Plus we should still be trying to finish as high as we can in the league, it would hekp keep gate attendances up and make us a more attractive proposition to players we go in for in the summer. Especially the way this season is going. Win a couple of games you're 7th/8th, lose a couple and you're bottom 5. Scary really but to be honest it's very rare this season that we've been as piss poor as we were last night. That gives me hope, along with Pardew's admission last night that we need to find a system that suits playing with the strikers we have availabel. Good to see he's not planning on carrying on lumping up balls to Ranger/Best.
-
Fucking hell man. Ashley sells Carroll for great money. We have our first 'bad' game in 5 and now he's Souness mkII
-
To be honest man, he's obviously gained his fortune by being this way in business. Has surely upset a few people on the way and has inevitably been extremely successful. Shame it's not showing that way at our club.

Because the January transfer window is notorious for shit, over-hiked prices and crap deals. Is Darren Bent really worth £24m? Is Andy Carroll really worth £35m? Torres £50m? I know we're short on bodies but I'd much rather us wait until the summer and (provided we stay up) get value for money. Loan signings wise, I'm not sure. To see two young players like Sturridge and Vela go to lesser teams without us (seemingly) making a move for them was odd. They're both just what we would need up top until the summer at least.
