Hope he’s at the club for the long term. Here until he retires then joins the coaching staff. Bloke is a world class player, tactically astute (years under the best manager in the world), a role model and just a genuinely class fella. I hope we look back in ten years as his signing being the first of something special.

Anyone who genuinely wants a ticket would be hard pressed to have either not bought a membership or know a ST holder who would sort them out. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.

He’d be a perfect “Howe” style player and would complement Bruno and Joelinton superbly imo. If we got him in then we’d have some real strength in depth in CM.

If we get him and then one of the Chelsea lot on loan (Gallagher, CHO or Pulisic) then I’m pretty content with that as a window. I think we’ll have £50m or so for January and would like to think we’d use that one one main player for the team.

Yeah it’s ridiculous how many there are. Having an “elected” board is the one of main problems. Likes it’s been said before, it’s a popularity contest and therefore there’s no way to ensure that people with the appropriate skills and knowledge to run such a high profile Trust are put in place. Being on the board because you attended Scunny away in 2009 or have 30k Twitter followers or whatever isn’t really appropriate when you’re handling hundreds of thousands of pounds of supporters money. I appreciate they’re all volunteers, and I’m not having a go at any one individual. However, as soon as they started taking supporters money in such vast quantity they needed to introduce a process where there is thorough independent scrutiny which was wholly transparent.

Hopefully that’s something Thomas can sort out because having a load of people who write for TF and do their podcasts isn’t representative of us as a fanbase. I think a lot of people would have a lot more time and patience with the Trust if it didn’t appear to be a closed shop. I appreciate anyone can run for the board etc but you can tell who will get in so there’s no real point in trying.
