  1. the two jobs he was linked with (WBA and Palace) are also ones which don't really let the manager control transfers so doubt he'd agree to work under that sort of system as he'd have to here
  2. i think moyes will be his first move 100%, he'll offer him a middling basic and good performance-related to get him near a decent PL salary moyes will be flush after 10 years at everton and a manyoo payoff, he might just take it I think Moyes would love to manage Newcastle and I think we'd probably offer him a decent wage. But he'd want far more input on the players we sign and I don't think he'd agree with our transfer policy. Just can't see it for that reason. Moyes would definitely want control over transfer policy but he worked well with a limited budget at Everton, which is something that might appeal. If we can give Moyes a reasonable wage and certain guarantees, I reckon he'd come. So thats a no then. Put simply there is no way in hell Moyes would come here, his next job is very important to show the Man Utd thing was a blip with factors outside his control blah blah blah and he needs to show yes he is still a brilliant manager, with that in mind why would he work for Mike Ashley who's ambition extends to collecting tv cash? That won't make him look good.
  3. for reference Manchester United, global brand and commercial superpower in the football world cost the Glazers £200m less.
  4. why would you buy Spurs for 1 billion pounds? Even forgetting us for a minute there's bloody Everton you could get for less than a third of it, sure you need to build a stadium but its still cheaper than spurs.
  5. Arsenal 1-1 Man City Chelsea 2-0 Swansea Crystal Palace 1-1 Burnley Southampton 1-1 Newcastle Stoke 0-0 Leicester Sunderland 1-2 Spurs West Brom 2-2 Everton Liverpool 2-1 Aston Villa Man Utd 2-1 QPR Hull 0-1 West Ham
  6. well they don't say that, they just say it won't be for sale in this or next season, fuck all implying it will be for sale after that.
  7. stop cases like Man City being a league champion and in pot 3 couple of years back. Could have an interesting knock on effect on the big sides who don't win their league in a year (eg Arsenal, runner up of Real and Barca etc) bumps them down a pot.
  8. yeah did a double take at the headline price too (1 billion for spurs, really? Man Utd global commercial juggernaut went for less than that)
  9. 5 goals in 70ish games and usually next to no end product in the slightest and you wonder why people tended to complain about him? Even when we were alright under Trap he was the only remotely creative player we had. Nobody else giving him support and then fans complain when he loses it. Sounds familiar. Most Irish fans would prefer some clogger like McClean who runs around like he's on speed but actually does nothing than somebody actually talented the only 2 players available to us who I'd really call talented are Coleman and to a far lesser extent McCarthy. The rest are various levels of meh Jesus Christ almighty. McGeady not talented ffs And he's done much more than either of those players have for Ireland he's alright nothing special. He may be one of the more "talented" currently available to ireland but thats not saying much.

  12. that was completely undeserved
  13. its rather too early to be saying Martinez is doing better than Moyes did. Maybe so, but aesthetically they are on a different planet almost. wouldn't agree, moyes team played some excellent stuff in his last few seasons.

  15. so far it looks same shit different manager.
  16. the difference being thats Manchester United a job almost any manager in the world would take if given the opportunity even if that meant restrictions on control
  17. I doubt Ashley would meet his wage demands either
  18. http://www.goal.com/en/news/90/france/2014/09/06/5088694/ribery-could-get-banned-for-france-retirement-platini?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter what a strange set of quotes by Platini.
  19. you'd think if he ever really wanted to be a manager he'd have had a better crack at it by now. Has he ever managed anywhere beyond reserve level?
  20. saw news of the sindo piece during the week, something like "john delaney on the genius of john delaney" while I look at the attendance on wednesday the fact the league of ireland is barely holding itself together and routinely ignored by the fai. The fact that fucker gets over 300k a fucking year. Fuck john delaney
  21. heres my thoughts Tony Pulis - really don't think he'd come, he's a control freak and ashley doesn't like his managers having any control Tim Sherwood thats a godawful arguement. Its very hard to judge him at all as a manager but I'll settle for the for that I can't stand him in the slightest. Steve Clarke- Noticable the collapse in form after the loan of lukaku ended. Whether thats down to the replacement in dof they had was incompetent or bad management is debatable Malky Mackay while I can't quite put it past Ashley to even think about it theres no way he's getting a job any time soon is there? Roberto Di Matteo - I put him into the unrealistic category for 1 simple reason RDM will almost certainly want more money than ashley will dream of giving out, if he even considers the job as worthy of him. Martin Jol - Dear god his spell at fulham was horrific, when he arrived fulham was an ageing side in need of young legs, his solution was to buy loads more old players and boy did it show. Avram Grant -didn't show anything at West Ham to say he knows much about management Rene Mul - Gianfranco Zola - gamble and a half take out the fact he was a great player and his name wouldn't even be mentioned in passing when considering potential replacements.
