Off The Ball @offtheball 54s Republic of Ireland starting 11: Forde, Coleman, O'Shea, Wilson, Ward; McCarthy, Whelan, Quinn, Walters, McGeady, Keane.

don't think its likely to see too many sugar daddies like Abramovich or Sheikh Mansour in the near future simply because of the FFP rules. Makes the man city style growth from midtable to title contender in a couple of years impossible unless you like the idea of not being allowed into the champions league (which that kind of owner will obviously not like) and you can be damned sure uefa would smack down hard on any upstart daring to break up the old guard of europes neat little cartel and carving up of the champions league money.
-
maybe appearing in 6 champions league games which won't exactly be high profile (not unless they get real madrid, barcelona etc) compared to 19 games in a stadium with his companies name plastered all over the place in the highest profile league in the world?
-
celtic "only" got 14m odd for last seasons group stage appearance compare that to 60m plus premier league deal. Suppose the theory centres around "oh champions league exposure for sports direct!" but iirc its only uefa approved (ie pay them a giant sack of money) sponsors are allowed to be displayed

as I recall sturridge looked rather excellent as a wide forward but got in a bit of a huff because he didn't want to play in that position. Welbecks been a good team player but never ever resembled a striker who can score 20+ a season.
-
He won't, he'll go on a Bosman. Not if we offer him a new contract before his with us ends (a month after the season ends). I can't see why his loan to Hull would be until the end of June when the season ends in May. Obviously this depends on Pardew not being here and the board changing their mind on it since they clearly don't disagree with Pardews stance and assuming Ben Arfa doesn't sign a pre-contract with a foreign club from january onwards or simply likes Hull
-
more or less my opinion, the 2 loans out enforce the idea the board trust him completely considering in the end the board has the absolute final say on ins and outs, if they really were just 2 games away from sacking pardew then why let those 2 players go? Why listen to the advice of someone you have such doubts on?
-
assume its going through since Welbecks done.
-
I wouldn't bet on either in that sentence
-
assuming its a loan then definitely not premier league rules post the lualua fiasco
-
you have to seriously question Wenger on why in gods name he didn't go for Remy

there's got to be an implosion in it soon because thats fucking stupid. And that doesn't even take into account how much the agents suck out of it.

I always feel like ssn goes into mourning that the window shuts
-
and slammed shut
-
Daniel Storey @danielstorey85 19s Jamal Blackman to Middlesbrough. Chelsea's 26th outgoing loan of the summer thats fucking stupid
-
Staying in the PL won't either. If we go down Ashley will be more tempted to sell imo. I'd think rather the opposite he won't find anyone willing to pay his asking price for the club in the championship
-
Andy Hunter @AHunterGuardian Follow Tom Cleverley to Everton doesn't appear to be happening. Everton saying they're done for the day.
-
It'll be a loan deal so won't play. Didnt Uefa change that? Courtois vs Chelsea, or is that only in the cups? champions league only, premier league has specific rules against loanees playing against their parent club which chelsea and co have used to their own benefit
-
even if it did they'd probably just pay up his contract
-
Enjoy the bench you cunt injured for 6 months
-
doubt it, clubs taken his side on HBA and MYM which suggests they trust him completely and if the headbutt incident won't get him sacked nothing will
-
why would he reject it? its this or no football for a season as clearly the hierarchy wants rid of him too
