theres no real fair outcome in this tbh sure in an ideal world finish the season but for a majority of league one clubs theres not enough incentive to justify the financial cost so weighted ppg (is it being done weighted on home and away?) is the least bad option available
  2. the premier league doesn't give half a shit about supporters, its ultimately just a body to negotiate tv deals.
  3. it got tedious a long time ago, jesus how many times was it brought up re sheffield united
  4. or it could work the other way where having 90 minutes played is beneficial to them getting back up to speed since obviously no ones going to be at their best in the first few weeks
  5. yeah think the same, its a decent response to an unusual situation, now having 9 subs on the bench doesn't sound a bad idea to have long term
  6. Yes, they have the draft report, and it's a decent assumption that it won't be substantially different from the final report unless it's a preliminary report as opposed to a draft one. 1) The investigation was commissioned after the court case, because Qatar were unhappy with the ruling. 2) Different jurisdiction, different rules of evidence, different standards of culpability 3) A precedent in a foreign case doesn't have to have any bearing at all on the O & D test This is the whole issue, and I don't know how you can so glibly dismiss concerns when the King's son is neck deep in PIF and Saudi Arabia's campaign against Qatar. The link is there. The opportunity to reject it is there in the rules. I don't think they will, but that's because I'm deeply cynical as opposed to optimistic... was it not also partly instigated as premier league etc haven't been able to get a law firm in SA to take on the case there?
  7. jesus fucking christ I am sick of people saying that anything negative written about this potential takeover is an "agenda"
  8. Yes that is true, but it doesn't happen immediately. It takes a few years of success for any particular team to generate money for the PL. Leicesters year was the most entertaining in bloody ages, but almost certain the PL income was down that year, as they didn't have the reach of the traditional 'big' teams I'd love to see some sort of study on tv viewing figures for all games, social media engagement etc etc comparing the figures between seasons where theres a tight title race with Leicester (or hell Chelsea or City) winning and Man Utd or Liverpool running away with it (obviously can't really use this season due to the disruption). My guess is there would be higher viewing figures and general engagement when Man Utd or Liverpool are winning it compared to Leicesters title win.
  9. Where does it say that? George Caulkin has just said it on twitter. I'm not seeing it and doubt anyone rational would seriously believe they restart it every time an objection comes in.
  10. They're mega coined. Nobody normal is as rich as these, it'll be worth it. very debatable but I'll leave it at that rather than get into another pointless argument
  11. why couldn't someone normal be trying to take over the club instead of this lot, seriously would have been a lot less of a headache
  12. I'm sorry like, but that's really embarassing. The Premier League won't, nor should they, give a fuck about any of those things he writes. You have absolutely got to be taking the piss? This is precisely everything the Premier League should be concerned about. What the fuck else are they for? making money through sponsorships and tv deals for its 20 member clubs
  13. maybe they should but ultimately they're not answerable to fans they're answerable to the 20 premier league clubs
  14. owners or anyone who has at least 30% of the shares I think Thanks, do you happen to have a source for this by any chance? Just wondering if they might end up with the Saudi's purchasing their 80% of the club split across 3 separate legal entities, in that case they would then be exempt from having to undergo these tests and then only the directors would have to be vetted. just what I found on wikipedia
  15. relax everyone it will happen when it happens (or not) but lets not be assholes
  16. Personally were I in charge of the premier league I wouldn't be giving the slightest shit about any clubs potential takeover not when theres this season to finish but starting next seasons as well, huge amount of money on the line if something goes wrong
  17. doubt any manager (or coach) will have much influence on transfers since they'll likely appoint a DoF
  18. I have no idea, the liverpool one I get in case they win the title and keep crowds away etc but City doesn't add up to me.
