not even staying for Lepizigs CL games?

seems to be enough for people with the SA bid

WTO have that right. PL just have their test, part of which is not having been involved with piracy, which imo this report is miles from proving as far as PIF is concerned. The problem is, from what I gather, the Premier league don't need watertight "proof" to reject it; if they think that the Saudis are responsible (either proactively or by turning a blind eye) or that they're not doing enough, they can reject the takeover on the grounds of reasonable belief. I've read plenty to contradict the above as well mind, and the money that's already been put down may well cause a legal shitstorm, so who knows. (Nobody, it seems) It's clearly up in the air, but at the stage we're now at I don't really understand those who are jumping on people with a more negative perspective, at the moment the takeover is clearly in the balance and could go either way. It's certainly not a cast iron certainty that it will go through and this place will be a mess if it doesn't. ultimately the premier league is a members club not a court of law so they can reject it on reasonable belief with their wording in their rule-book being so vague, the issue is if it is rejected it could end up in court which could create a whole load of problems for them down the line beyond this takeover

"The World Trade Organisation has ruled that Saudi Arabia was behind a pirate satellite TV and streaming service that illegally broadcast sporting events" But they haven't though, have they? They've established that Saudi Arabia didn't do enough to stop it, not that SA was behind the illegal broadcasts. The same people would be complaining if the Saudis had caught those behind beoutQ and chopped their arms off (or whatever they do to pirates over there). Can't win. but the premier league wouldn't give half a shit and would have rubber stamped the takeover months ago You don’t want this takeover to go through do you, now you’re straw clutching. quite frankly I would rather almost anyone else be trying to buy the club preferably someone without one of the worst human rights records in the world

except its pretty explicit SA won't take any action because that would benefit Qatar
-
Honestly couldn’t care less about the piracy, the rest you are correct on. ironically the premier league (by all appearances) only cares about the piracy. Sad indictment of modern football that it is that human rights etc are a secondary thought to intellectual property
-
well one side is paying the premier league £500m for the tv rights and the other side ignored the blatant theft of these rights. I know which side I'd be paying more attention to were I in the premier leagues position
-
Not possible with the money involved. hell how about someone who's mostly clean and not a fucking country
-
Nobody can answer this. Maybe they did an updated foreword or executive summary recently? actually thinking about this more aren't the PL involved as the intellectual property rights qatar are booting off over are heavily involving the PL, highly likely they'd be involved in the investigation as it's their product that's being stolen who was it posted the link to the WTO page with the report the other day, sure the PL was mentioned there the question of how something that cropped up 2 months ago and is supposedly confidential has been crowbarred in is a different one though prem probably only had a draft report with the takeover referenced in the final report finally given
-
personally I find that a hard argument to swallow when the chairman of PIF is the crown prince/deputy prime minister
-
if it were anybody but KSA maybe but with the beoutq shit which they've been trying to take action over for a while now. It would be a weird look for the premier league to try and take action against KSA earlier this year then just say welcome a little while later
-
the chairman of PIF is the Crown Prince (who has a whole load of other jobs on paper in the government) and its the Public Investment Fund they're directly subordinate to KSA

He’s comes across as a total bellend despite a good writer who I nearly always agree with. This. Gone about things completely the wrong way, but I agree with his views. Our fans are absolutely disgusting on Twitter, absolute cesspit. ffs people have tried to get him sacked because he dares express an opinion different to their own on the takeover, were that me I'd be reacting in the exact same way
-
he was a competent enough keeper when called upon imo
-
weird, why not just let them take one of the U.S spots as thats the countrys league they play in?
-
He might be though, he, you or I don't know that it may eventually go through but what he's said there is 100% right what Stavely and co have been leaking to journalists about "no red flags" is clearly complete bollocks as is their bravado that oh it will be done in a few weeks.
-
theres no real fair outcome in this tbh sure in an ideal world finish the season but for a majority of league one clubs theres not enough incentive to justify the financial cost so weighted ppg (is it being done weighted on home and away?) is the least bad option available
-
the premier league doesn't give half a shit about supporters, its ultimately just a body to negotiate tv deals.

it got tedious a long time ago, jesus how many times was it brought up re sheffield united

Newcastle Utd V Sheffield Utd - 21/06/2020 @ 2pm BST (Live on Sky/beoutQ)

or it could work the other way where having 90 minutes played is beneficial to them getting back up to speed since obviously no ones going to be at their best in the first few weeks -
delayed until next week I heard
