  1. I can somewhat forgive the Dalglish appointment, on paper it made sense at the time, didn't work but he was hindered by Shearers injury and Ferdiands sale and he did buy Given and Speed. Souness though good lord. The Dalglish and Gullitt appointments were genuine mistakes, both were highly rated managers who just turned out to be poor in retrospect. Dalglish's second spell at Liverpool perhaps exposed him to closer scrutiny on Merseyside then he'd previously had. I think before that they saw him through rose tinted glasses somewhat. tbh it would be hard for them not to have rose tinted glasses since he was one of their greatest ever players and last manager to win a league for them. Wouldn't be much different for us if Keegan came back again as manager tomorrow

  3. Cheers. I maybe overstated the impact it would have on GR's stats but as expected, Souness sinks like a stone when you take out walloping European cack. Speaks volumes of the depressing effect Ashley's ownership has had on the clubs performance. Winning 1 in three is overachievement and that's before you consider the fact we've not troubled the cups either. tbh it goes beyond even Ashley we've just been diabolically run for decades both in managerial appointments and just how the club has been run which in general has been purely for the benefit of the owner or chairman not the club
  4. 1 Sir Bobby 2 Keegan I 3 Rafa 4 Hughton 5 Roeder 6 Keegan II 7 Bruce 8 Pardew 9 Dalglish 10 Gullit 11 Allerdyce 12 McClaren 13 Carver 14 Kinnear 15 Souness I have Souness as the worst as the rot started with him, Ashley etc exacerbated it but the root cause was the decision to appoint Souness which took NUFC from competing around the european places to lower-midtable and it only got worse from there (8m for fucking Boumsong). On a brighter front I have Sir Bob marginally ahead of Keegan as I don't think he had the comparative resources KK had in his first time but really its a toss up between them.
  5. Theres that argument but he also basically held the club together in a rather difficult period post relegation with the owner AWOL squad being picked apart and the banana kit. It would have been very easy with a different character for team spirit to collapse and we could be stuck in the championship to this day possibly. Instead he got a good team spirit going and steadily improved the team over the championship season and got us up with flying colours all in all not bad for a first proper go at being a manager.
  6. bit unlucky with Rooneys injury in 04 as well considering how well he was playing, could have gone very different then if he didn't get injured
  7. I'm impressed he's still going at this stuff after all these years of bullshit
  8. It won't but it just gives ammunition for others. to do what? press who disagree with it are going to write or say what they want anyway regardless of what any fans think. theres nothing wrong with a debate on it given the dubious morals of the major backer in this proposed takeover and its not like SA is going to be put off because of what some journalists say I agree with you that it wont make a difference in terms of the takeover and your right press will write what they want regardless but we dont need to go around giving them something to feed on. If this meeting was just amnesty and others who oppose it it would be reported as a meeting of opponents but fan groups attending allows a different slant to be taken. I'm sick of the media talking shit about us and just dont want to give them more opportunities to do that. I'll respecfully disagree completely. There will be a number of fans (hell just look on here) who are troubled by possibly being in any way associated with SA and I think its important for a robust debate where both sides get to say their piece considering the general awfulness that is twitter and the twats on there sticking SA flags on their twitter handles and abusing anyone who says the slightest thing negative about SA or the takeover.

  10. no but the reaction to that fact once it becomes blindingly obvious at 3.01pm might be mildly amusing
  11. Tbf to him after having re-read his initial tweets and then his responses to various people. He seems to be referring to the media's indulgence of the cans meme, rather than the fans themselves excitement over it. I still feel like he's taking his argument to extremes but it does seem to be meant in a different way to how most have initially taken it. But even still what’s the problem with the media indulging in the #cans meme? He is generally right but he needs to pick his battles better. because in his opinion the media should be asking questions about the kind of people taking over the club and their track record and not blindly cheerleading

  13. tbh I find the cans thing cringey at best at least how the media have decided to jump in on it anyway.
  14. he wasn't the worst defensively we've ever had but we've had some really shite full backs
  15. Thankfully the bubble is going to burst and big time imo. Are the numbers for League Two meant to be high? Genuine question, wages aren't comparable between country due to currency differences and so on, but half of the League Two numbers look like less than minimum wage over here, which made me genuinely interested in the level of average wage in the UK vs strength of currency/buying power. Or is it meant to showcase the difference between players and the rest of the staff? That's what I assumed from Collymore's tweet, but the article having the headline "the eye watering sums spent across the EFL" felt like they meant all of it. average wage in the uk according to google is £30,420 from the latest figures so league 2 looks mostly around what normal jobs earn
  16. bit of a one season wonder Phillips but still 30 goals in a premier league season is a rare feat its only happened 7 times (I think) in a 38 game season and the others are a whos who of great forwards in the last 27 years
  17. well its been what 2 weeks since the story really became solid and it was said the tests would take 2-4 weeks.
  18. we had Joe Kinnear as our manager for a few months and still nearly stayed up, that squad should have easily gotten mid-table
  19. I mean Baines was pretty good at his best but christ trying to say he was better than Ashley Cole who was one of if not the best left back in the world at his peak and probably Englands best ever left back?
  20. That's it like. Where is the line? Liverpool do deserve it, but how can you give them the title, but keep everything else fair? dont envy the decision, whatever about liverpool thats easy, champions league places depend a lot on citys appeal but relegation spots could get messy and unless the season actually finishes there will be legal action on it from whoever goes down
  21. a lot of it is probably mostly to make a point of objecting like amnesty etc the only one thats probably in half way serious in trying to put pressure on the prem is bein sports
  22. good grief, look the best way to deal with him is to ignore him, he's clearly only tangentially interested in nufcs well being so long as he can get the spot light
  23. if it was in any way intentional it would be an impressive last bit of spite to the fans
