  1. 5m net? Christ. We'd have to offer north of £100k a week to match that. the one factor is that Monaco are still in Ligue 2 but look good for promotion Money rules. quite possibly, if those numbers are true then its hard to see many matching it considering the lack of tax in monaco thus making offering the same deal rather more expensive for any other club

  3. Darren Bent on loan Don`t think we could with Carroll anyway with the FIFA rule : "player is only eligible to play in Official Matches for two clubs." in 1 year. If he hadn`t signed for West Ham I`m pretty sure we would have gone back in for him though.. Probably discussed already, but do loans count? There must be plenty of players in the football league who go out on loan to a couple of clubs in a season and also appear for their parent club. I guess it's because the majority of these are classed as 'emergency loans'. FWIW I don't think we will be in for Carroll at the moment, but I am just interested to see if anyone knows the crack. Normal loans do count as far as I'm aware, the emergency loan in the football league has always been a grey area since its very existence kinda breaks fifa rules

They haven't come into effect yet so we really don't know exactly how they'll affect any club. it has, Malaga kicked out of europe for one season and fined €350k odd which I find a strange punishment when finances are bad to begin with They haven't reviewed this league yet based on all the current years financials though surely? no that part is ongoing as far as I'm aware but it will mean fuck all, see all the sudden huge sponsorships PSG Chelsea and City are pulling from shockingly enough companys located where the owners of the respective clubs are from

    Football pet hates

Agents are the problem with modern football, since they get millions for doing fuck all when the option to have a PFA guy there representing them and the PFA instead get the cut which stays in football helping those further down the ladder when they need it etc while agent money goes to places like monaco (where Wille McKay lives) for example

They haven't come into effect yet so we really don't know exactly how they'll affect any club. We've touched on this elsewhere like, but do you really think they'll make any real difference? Because, I don't. The organisations that will implement it are all corrupt as fuck. won't stop any of the established elite doing as they feel like but anyone who breaks into their neat little cartel uefa hammer

  10. my interest in this extends to when the Ivory Coast go out
  11. Pretty hard to be cheerful when you go from 5th to 2 points above relegation and you see Ba leave the club and his replacement is off to the team who is 20th in the table and the club captain could very well be leaving. We have won 5 games all season, with no away wins and 9 defeats in our last 12 games. Hardly surprising people are struggling to remain positive. brooding about it does no good and isn't healthy, we've been through worse times than this and come out the other end fine we will this time too. Think positive
  12. people need to cheer up a little
  13. Peculiar season that one, anyway. Hull stayed up with only 35 points, I don't think it's likely to happen again. can see it this season given the general incompetence of the prem in general never mind near the bottom

Makes pretty grim reading that. The text of the report suggests that that was in the Championship. The year before that you were 63rd, which would have been about a 40Kpw average. What text? I think the figures are from the 2010/11 season, when we were back up. Swiss Ramble (http://swissramble.blogspot.nl/2012/03/newcastle-united-life-in-northern-town.html) has roughly the same figures: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GD4P0rhmO2w/T2hAJj3JJmI/AAAAAAAAFcg/sXBXt61En_Q/s400/23%2BNewcastle%2BWages%2BLeague.jpg That's because that's from the 2009-10 season as well. f*** me, unbelievable. Aye, amended my post as just noticed the note at the bottom. I seriously doubt it is currently much lower though, especially with Ba gone. Will be interesting to see the nest set of accounts with regards to this. Actually, is that not just the ones with a star next to them? I'm confusing myself now.. Yup that got me. Flipping stars. But yeah, your first figures were from our Championship season. The first season back we hardly brought in any stars either tbf (not sure how much we contributed to HBA loan wages). Would love to know what our average is now. probably around the same percentage wise of turnover so up a bit but hardly significantly so I'd imagine

couldn't agree more, understand why the chelsea supporters might say that given all he's done for them but surely the media should take an unbiased view of it, don't recall this level of hysteria and questioning Chelsea's sanity when Drogba was on his way

Yeah I suppose, I cannot possibly see how Barton would deem that as a pointless dig towards him It happens all the time, Someone "destroys" Barton on twitter, everyone laughs and agrees what a mug Barton is, Baron gets personal in a reply, everyone is outraged and agrees what a mug Barton is. he's saying he does drugs, theres having a dig and going fucking insane And Hamann is bringing up the McDonalds incident. Swings and roundabouts really, both need to get a fucking grip. bringing up what barton is actually convicted of comparing to libel of someone, yeah swings and roundabouts..... I'm not saying the Hamann shit is true, but there is a pretty decent chance that Barton knows a fuck lot more than us, so there's that... theres also the fact he's stuck in his own little world where he's an misunderstood genius and he should have had 50 plus caps for england
