  1. to say Shepherd neglected the youth system would be an understatement plus combine that with Keegan removing the reserve side at a time he would be looking around at who to join and its not hard to see why he went to West Ham who have a good record of bringing through players
  2. systems are overblown in importance imho, its not about how they line up blah blah blah but the players and the intent of the manager that counts more than anything.

not sure which is stupider 120k on 2 keepers or just 50k on Green

    Alan Pardew

would say if he was going to be sacked (would be surprised) it would happen on monday
  5. I've questioned it in a couple of threads, it's a sad indictment on the club IMO. If it happens I'll start a thread as it's a bit little Englander & I'm loath to come across that way as I'm as faux foreign as you get. when you see the stupid prices that english players are going for its hard to disagree with the buy foreign policy They're not all stupid prices and we should be looking, ideally, to develop our own. I do honestly think thats what they want as well but it does take time for any changes in youth structure which have been made to have any meaningful effects in whats coming through

I find that very hard to believe Don't know if that amount is correct or not but I could believe he is on a low basic salary. The Ashley pay model in Sports Direct is low basic pay but plenty of incentive based bonuses. I would think AP got a good wedge for last season's effort. low basic sure but "much less than 10k a week" is ridiculously low considering when he got the new contract he was in a much stronger position than when he first arrived.

I find that very hard to believe That people listen to Adrian Durham? no he's rather amusing and very good at his job of winding people up
  8. and are doing worse with them than with the team full of non english players, go figure

conspiracy theory time, perhaps his selection (shola starting) and subs were some daft attempt to get things moving transfer wise. Probably not I know
  13. no way Laudrup would move from Swansea atm when they have a potential cup final and he's been mentioned for the Real job in the summer, his best interest is served by staying where he is for the season
  14. If I owned the club I'd be on the blower for Martinez or Laudrup tonight with £5m ready to pay off their respective clubs. Failing that I'd go for Ridjkaard who is available free. Adkins would be the last option but still better than what we have. Is Frank any good? Sacked form his last two posts. I rate him very highly. Good pedigree, deep knowledge of the game from his Ajax, Holland, Barca and Milan days. Won a CL and 2 La Liga's with Barca as manager. I would say his understanding of the deep game with regard to tactics, formations and tempo is as good as any top manager in the game today. Why hasa he done so shit then in the last 5 years? Really all he's done is kept Barca ticking with some of the worlds best players before 2008 then since nothing apart from getting sacked. Saudi sacked him, that's bad. Things fell apart at barca alarmingly quickly after the cl win given the quality of player they had and were in a right state by the end
  15. Jol is ahead of Pardew in the sack race. Got to be a manager out there who is happy for the current setup of recruitment to continue with minimal say, while encouraging player development and a attacking passing game. Surely they aren't just myths? Jol will not get sacked. Fulham are a bit meh this season under him but for them not getting relegated and finishing as high as possible is their real aim. He will comfortably lead them to that position. As for your other point, Jol is that kind of man basically. He had little say over transfers at Spurs or in Holland and even at Fulham I imagine. Fulham fans disagree over the a big meh bit. They've been fairly appalling more or less

your right it not only sounds mental but is mental There is no way in hell Ashley would want us destroyed
  17. Hitzfeld? No manager with a portion of dignity would come here. and what do you base this sweeping statement on? Ashley? There are far worse owners out there than him who have gotten people to work for them
  18. Matt Spiro ‏@mattspiro Montpellier coach Rene Girard says he knows nothing about Yanga-Mbiwa to #NUFC. "The BBC say it's done? I hear about these things from afar"
  19. if he does go (don't get the feeling he's gonna be sacked) I can see Hughes being the choice
