The same Guthrie who has created more league goals than anyone else in our squad? This. Nolan was diabolical in the 2-2 with WBA. Nolan's been diabolical most of the season tbh, it's the fact that the goals have dried up that makes it even worse. You know that sitter he missed? Well I was watching the build up play very closely when we were charging up the right, and the only reason he got to miss that sitter because he walked from the centre circle to the edge of the box. I was fuming. Smith and Nolan play far too deep!!!! Hopefully Guthrie will be an AM and Smith his usual self in a DM and we can play a diamond

Yeah i've noticed this. Its ashame, some of the best chants are the ones that get repeated again and again and again. The last one i remember is against liverl in december 2008. When the whole stadium sang: Hello, hello we are the geordie boys. For about five minutes. Despite being 5-1 down. At least now fans are starting to get behind the team as soon as the opposition scores a la the old days.
-
Our repetoire is also shockingly boring. Its always Neeewwwcassstle and toon toon all the time. We need to bring back the old ones more. At the plymouth fa cup game i heard these fans sing 'follow follow follow' for 15 minutes straight. A good slow song with easy lyrics to understand in which everybody can join in, thats what you need for a better atmosphere. Songs that people are able to hear the words, and if other fans can hear, then the players can hear

Some fans changed the way we sing 'oh when the mags' to a really slow starting 1st verse which slowly speeds up, and when it is done properly it sounds fantastic. So why can't we do it with 'our' song. I would love to be able to sing the blaydon races like 'i'm forever flowing bubbles' etc etc before a game. Even when the song comes on over the PA system, people still somehow manage to sing quicker than the song...
-
Aye superb fans, second biggest average attendances in Europe after the Mancs I think. Love ESPN, had it since the start of the season. What's keegan like on it?? He seemed good to listen to on itv today.
-
Fiest things first, the Blaydon races is sung FAR too quickly. It should be sang like 'You'll never walk alone' , and 'Bluye Moon' when everybody can sing it at a slow pace, so eventually everybody can join in. AND it is san wrong. Instead of away we went alang collingwood street that's on the road to blaydon, we seem to think the first verse ends in the way the chorus does Also the atmosphere is sh**. My dad used to play rugby at novos (in longbenton, next to the ministry) and he said when newcastle scored or were singing all the rugby players would say oh thats the third goal or thats the fourth etc. This was the entertainer days. Fair enough the bowl shape may have played a part, but still....

Red numbers is what we need. Havn't won a trophy since we replaced the red number...coincidence? I really like the look of those two strips.

How the f*** do you work that out when someone like Geremi was the cornerstone of his team. Exactly. The liverpool game stands out to me, the organization was a shambles. Nobody on the right hand side all game. If it wasn't for Given we would ave lost 11 or 12-0. We didnt have a shot or corner all game!
-
We wouldn't have got relegated if we had Keegan for the whole 2008-09 season though...
-
Completley disagree. It needed to be done, his mistake was not sticking by Keegan.
-
On 606 sport all the Blackburn fans are turning on him, and loads of geordies are telling them 'we told you so' but ofcourse we're deluded and never give managers a chance!
-
I hate the man, would love to see Blackburn go down.

I'd prefer sound reasoning rather than sentimental reasoning to be used in our approach to signing players. Where's the sentiment? "Just sign him up". Where's the reasoning? Colchester and Newcastle have turned down the chance to sign him on a free following trials. A club in Peru has said it isn't signing him. He's now on trial at Sheffield United. Solano has previously been playing in Peru and Greece since leaving West Ham. It doesn't exactly scream "sign him up now" does it? Why would we sign him if it wasn't for sentimental reasons? Perhaps he wanted too much in the form of wages, or too long a contract? I'm sure he'd happily say yes to us for 5k a week until May...

Sorry

sky? Its mismanagment of the clubs by the owners. Also, the moment Roman opened the pl for the super rich, who injected even more money, the natural balance between clubs was ruined. Premier leauge is now diagnosed with financial cancer, all know something is wrong, but no one have the remedie yet, and the weakest(most mismanaged) will die. Hope most clubs get the mess sorted out, but will they manage it in time? Yes Sky. From the minor things like changing kick off times stupidly late with no consideration of the fans. To creating the PL, whcih has now distanced itself from the football league. It was great to start off with and yes clubs have made money, but to stay in the PL (where the money is because of Sky) 'smaller' clubs like Pompey, Burnley etc will/have to overspend to stay in which they just can't do. Thus ruining clubs and creating a bigger void between the PL and the FL.

Eh?

I've been on here a few months and i can't start a topic. There isn't a poll starter or topic starter on the start up screen, only notify and mark read. Any help please?

Sky really have ruined football. There'll be a lot more like Pompey in the next 2-3 years

We'll be stopping at a pub before Birmingham, and when we get there it'll be the Royal Oak, about 10 minutes walk from the ground, its a sh*thole. There's a mcdonalds outside aswell -
The bit in bold sums up my opinion as well. Was there only once sadly, but it was one of the best days of my life. It was last season vs. Bolton at home, last home game with Keegan in charge and despite not such a great performence it was absolutely fantastic. Really looking forward to going to SJP this year again. That game i loved aswell. It really annoys me that we no longer have Keegan. We were definitley going places...

What's Phil Brown doing there? ;D
