Just got in. Loads of tickets left for Bilbao - basically the full Strawberry Corner is available. Block F has 273 seats Block E has 415 seats I'm not sure this will sell out as quickly as people thought.

Nah they dress up in suits and go and watch Minnions. I saw a group of 20 of them at Cramlington Vue yesterday. Bizarre.

Supermarkets have killed the pub trade imo. I've said for a while, but they should reduce the hours of alcohol trading in supermarkets and add extra tax to the products. This could then allow a large reduction on tax for the price of a pint in your local pub. I'd also argue to reduce the drinking age to 16 (in pubs only, up the licence holder's jurisdiction to serve and only on alcohol below 3.5%). Could that kickstart a pub boom again and like @LFEEsays increase social interaction between generations?

Can’t remember who said they know the club are looking into extension possibilities. But if that poster knows, it’s probably quite likely that the owners of the Gallowgate land know too. The club have been safe since April, they know the demand is there. If they needed confirmation, they’ve certainly found out this week with the amount of memberships they’ve sold. I’m sure all parties will get what they want out of the deal.

Would really like to hear this get an airing. My dad used to sing it to me and I’ve never ever heard it at SJP. A very simple chant as well.

For one of the friendlies (perhaps the Friday?) is anyone keen on getting a group of us together to meet up for a few pints before/after the game, and even try and liaise to sit closeish together during the game? I don't think I've done a proper forum meet up for about 7 years so I'm perhaps being a little selfish. Generally, people have their own traditions for league games, so understandably aren't as keen to meet up, but with the ST fiasco and the unlikelihood of so many of us getting to go to games regularly, I thought it might be a nice way of getting as many posters together for a change. Anyone keen, and we can set up a DM group on here to organise.

Totally agree on this. I'm speaking as someone that hasn't been able to get my ST back (the risk you take I suppose). But a 60-65k stadium is MORE than enough imo and surely is more cost effective than building a new stadium. This is a good point. Since Mehrdad commented on the 60-65,000 thing a while back - the logical step will no doubt be to expand the Gallowgate. I believe the Strawberry Place land development fell through as well? Perhaps a slight reconfiguration of the East Stand as well. Would make sense as to only having 31,000 ST holders if the East Stand was also misplaced for a while?
