What's our lowest PL attendance since the extension of L7?
-
Do you think a lot of it could also be modern football? I feel like a hell of a lot has changed in the last 10 years tbh - and for worse. I was watching an episode of the Likely Lads the other day. The way they talk about football in that period (72-74) fills me with envy tbh. It must have been amazing to be involved in at the time. I always think of the '74 cup semi and final. The amount of fans turning up to SJP even though we'd lost! It just seems a time that is ancient history. A different type of player, generally a different type of player. A different football club.

FFS Believable though...

Well, that's that then. One of the most important periods in the club's history and Wraith has managed to cock it up

He may have thought we'd not down tools. We haven't in the past... KK, Shearer, Hughton going. Kinnear and Pardew coming in. Sports Direct Arena. Why would he think this time would be any different? We've been mugs for 11 years.

No strikers. No manager. Lookin' goooooood

Do people think every major revolution in History happened because people just continued following the status quo? Imagine France in 1789 or Russian in 1917. 'I'm so sick of that bloody King. We should do something about it.' 'Yeah, I agree! Maybe if we revolt and tell him we're not going to put up with this s*** anymore we might get change. Heck! If they still won't listen, we'll get rid of him altogether and chop off his head! 'Na. On second thought. We'll just complain a bit but still pay our taxes when called upon and hopefully our murmuring of discontent will make them listen' 'Yeah, that might work actually. It hasn't worked for the last 500 years but I'm sure we're due a bit of good fortune soon!' THE END.

Your face on the Sunderland question man. We now you'd have said yes given the chance...
-
Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa you wouldn't

Not sure if serious. Worked with him years ago at NUFC. He’s a nice guy and a vey good coach. Of course, shouldn’t be leading 1st team training mind

This wins the internet for the day

Surely there would have to be a vote for a 'Trust President' or whatever. Perhaps a 2 year term. Then people can stop bitching and moaning as to who is the face of the Trust, so to speak
-
Absolutely. There’s enough negativity around as it is without us turning on each other for opinions. Good post. The truth is, none of us know what is the best solution for the long term. My view is different to others. And others are different to mine. C’est la vie

Call me a crack pot, but I don't get how you don't get genuine Toon fans actively want us to lose in the current situation? What does winning achieve but an extension of Ashley's regime? Does avoiding relegation in 2019/20 bring us any closer to Ashley leaving? What does losing achieve? Relegation with the possibility of Ashley losing money (and possibly bringing his regime closer to an end)? Personally, I'm hoping we lose 0-10 every match. Ashley killed my club, now I want to see his destroyed. Yeah that's worked really well in the past hasn't it. As I said before boycott, don't buy any merchandise, don't watch the tv, but to actually want your team to lose I think the difference is we’ve bounced back from relegations at the first time of asking. Add into this we had the highest ever average crowds in the second division. We need to go down, stay down. No TV money and tiny gates means no money for Ashley. That’s what it’ll take. So yes. I’d actively support us losing to ensure I get my club back. What’s the point in the club in its current guise?

Five years and counting for me. It gets easier, but I just admit I am looking froward to the day I have my own seat again

This. That would only harden views , we need to win people over to our way of thinking . Mind you some kind of non violent direct action ala Extinction Rebellion might be worth a go ... whos up for superglueing themselves to a turnstile on matchday ? Would cause absolute havoc People have tried the softly softly approach with Sack Pardew and Ashley Out protests. I remember being told to f*** off and be careful what I wish for when I held up a Sack Pardew card and offered outside ffs Why should the 'support the team' crowd always get their own way and be as violent as they like to others with a different opinion, yet people striving for change have to play nicely all the time?
-
No-one mention Hitzfeldgate In fairness that was a shot in the dark from us lot rather than us faking shit. Seems like yesterday too. Must be near 15 years ffs. Too early for me, though I do remember people going on about it. Did the forum try and get in touch with Hitzfeld to be the new manager or something?
-
They’re behind doors iirc
-
I can see it being Allardyce. I really can. For those too young to remember - he made Pardew look competent. Fortunately, we only had to endure him for 8 months.
-
I’m laughing but it’s true Proper got me too n'all
-
All joking a side - there should be a strategy. Pubs offering ST holders discounted drinks during the game and offering the match on TV. Anything to make as many people stay away

Another stellar reference when we’re all feeing down
