  1. 7 We've had 1 in 20 years. And that was a league game. This is our longest ever run without a Wembley Final. 21 years and counting... Longest before that was 19 years (1932-51 & 1955-74) and 20 years (1976-96). Depressing I'm not having the charity shield as a final. Stop ruining my agenda Regardless, if we don’t make the FA Cup final this year, next year we’ll have tied our longest run without a final at Wembley/indeed any final (including games at the Crystal Palace etc)

  3. We are going to get absolutely bummed next season when this luck runs out and Ashley doesn’t think he needs to invest.
  4. I don’t understand football. Clearly.
  5. The boys just never give up. This is what Bruce does! Etc etc
  6. I found this embarrassing. For all the Newcastle fans saying it was an easy mistake to make....that’s absolute bollocks I’m afraid. I wasn’t born for another 20 years but I know it was ‘74. I know we won 3 FACs in the 1950s (51,52,55). How would you not know that as a fan who LIVED through it? I’m sure the old timers on here would never forget that it was 1974. In fact I bet many of them would say that the game at Hillsbrough v Burnley is up there with the best game they ever attended. Thats how you remember. Bruce is a fucking charlatan man.
  7. Does he do it on purpose? I’m quite looking forward to Douglas, Edwards et al refusing to admit they ever liked Bruce when we go on a 10 match run without a win next season.
  8. I backed up Rafa facts against Mark Douglas last night. I’ve woken up this morning to streams of abuse I’m so disenfranchised from my club, its supporters and institutions like The Chronicle. It’s actually unbearable to feel this way about the club you love - yet feeling so helpless and on your own when it comes to the fan base. I thought the fan base was divided under Pardew. This is so much worse - yet to me it seems clear as day what’s eventually going to happen. And there won’t be a world class manager stepping in to save us from oblivion this time. Quite frankly, we’re going to deserve everything we get.
  9. Can’t believe how fans on Twitter are taking the piss out of fans who supported Rafa. As if results like today vindicate him leaving. I can’t wait for this to all blow up and turn to shit. It looks like we’re going to have to wait another year though. Enjoy it while it lasts
  10. Even being fortunate enough to have a ST during the Robson years as a young lad, I honestly think that moment and the week leading up to the Bolton game was some of the happiest I’ve ever had as a Newcastle fan. By the time Keegan had left he really had turned around a dreadful side that I think would have been close to relegation by the end of the 07/08 season. I still feel robbed as a fan. I’d love to see in an alternative universe where we’d have reached with Keegan. I don’t think it would have been anything special. Perhaps a top 6 finish and a cup run of sorts. But it would have been fun whilst it lasted. 8 months was too short and just cruel for a 14 year old. Can you tell I’m not over it yet?
  11. Before VAR everyone would have watched the reply and said that was onside by a mile. Absolute joke
  12. Enjoy Ancelotti’s new manager bounce
  13. Playing into Ashley’s hands is going to the game.
  14. Whilst I completely get where you are coming from I wouldn’t say it’s completely gone. I still go with the same people I’ve gone with for a few years and I still enjoy going, the football is dire at the moment but I guess one day Ashley will be gone. Still get a buzz when we win and still feel connected. Things could be a lot worse Hope you get better as well, remember your postings in the past Ashley will never leave of his own free will when he can pull a stunt like this - 3 months into a boycott - with literally thousands of fans lapping it up. Perhaps we were just beginning to make him think twice? Not now. Guess who wins again! There’s genuinely every possibility that he could be here until his death. It’s a guaranteed money machine. I can’t believe I’m in a minority of fans that understand the potential of NOT going. I know what the potential of the club is if people still go. Nothing. Nowhere. Until it’s too late and we become a footnote in the history of English football.
  15. We, as a fan base, really deserve everything we get with this club. If this was Sunderland, the same morons would have been pissing themselves laughing. There’s no hope for this club. I’m with the miserable bastards (which is now me) who want us to fail. That’s the only way for us to get our club.
  16. I genuinely despair at the reactions of many ‘fans’ to this news. They’re lapping it up. How blind can you be man? As every week goes by I feel less and less attached to my club. The only thing that keeps me going is waiting for the day Ashley goes - my fear is that I’ll never ever get the passion back. I feel it’s been drained away forever.
  17. I'm the same. My post count has reduced drastically over the last few years.
  18. Genuinely no idea how we’ve scored. We’re so outrageously bad Well taken finish though.
