  1. I was the best goalie in our league though! Got an award and all
  2. How is Pellegrini a joke ffs City flew back from Dubai overnight, arriving in the UK this morning. Now that is a joke Is that true? Deserve to get kicked out then. It's either arrogance or incompetence.
  3. Man, Córdoba missing quite a few good chances. They are going to regret that, won't they?
  4. I *was* rubbish, a Fat Kid to be exact. I ended up being a decent goalie though, and played as one in Sunday League up until my late 20s!
  5. With Atlético midweek, we were always going to rest one of the big guns for this one.
  6. I always voluntereed to go in goal in what the article calls Wembleys (we called them Taqui-Gol in Spain, I still don't know why) Our rule against goalhanging was that you had to run out of the box if you stole the ball or caught a rebound - otherwise if you scored it wouldn't count. Clean and simple. Hated, HATED that.
  7. I like Navas. He's a very good player in my opinion. Jovetic on the other hand is more and more looking like an absolute waste. Navas' end product is pretty s****, imo. He's always getting into decent positions, but the final ball is often poor. He's not good enough for City. Always what's held him back. He had a great understanding with Negredo, though, always connected well with him.
  8. That said, if you had to sign a volatile manager that previously played in midfield for both Madrid and Barça and then made a name for himself managing Getafe, I'd have gone for Laudrup.
  9. Yet he's always got decent enough results and played nice football. He just makes things too hard for himself sometimes with his character. You have been linked to more exciting managers, but he's miles ahead of Pardew.
  10. To be honest, he obviously said that to motivate his players, it was just a terrible soundbite from a Real Madrid manager. He was right, anyway.
  11. He's never been too diplomatic. He famously got sacked from Real Madrid for saying that it was impossible to defeat us on the verge of a Clásico. He's a bit passive-aggressive on the mic, tbh.
  12. Not too well, Real Madrid got rid of the likes of Juan Mata, Negredo, etc... under his stewardship but that was more club's policy than anything else, tbf. He's never lasted too long at any club too really judge; he did play quite a few last year at Málaga though.
  13. He's always been a pretty attacking manager.
  14. Yeah. He's always worked under pretty strong chairmen or DoFs - in Spain at least. He's probably not as shiny and exciting as the other managers you've been linked to, but there's a decent upside if things work out. He's always been a pretty offensive-minded manager. Full disclosure: He was my childhood hero until the c*** signed for Real Madrid.
  15. Schuster has been a bit of hit and miss, but his hits have been pretty watchable. His Getafe side was really entertaining, and earned him the Madrid gig; his Málaga side last year was pretty turgid though. Heck, even his Real Madrid team was fine, he just had the bad luck of squaring off against a nascent Barça side under Guardiola.
  16. Sorry, but it looks like Lucas Silva is getting that one
  17. What did they do to Falcao up at Monaco? That injury seems to have hurt his game more than I expected.
  18. Dafuq is that? A tribe of Nicholas Cage clones worshiping Adrian Chiles?
  19. I love KaKa's knack for hyperbole tbf.
  20. Honestly, I think there's a "global" trend in football towards efficiency rather than flair. Even Messi and Ronaldo aren't as flamboyant as, say, Ronaldinho or Rivaldo.
  21. Getafe. And it's a serious prediction
  22. He's not as tood as you're making out VI. Reading their forums there are quite a few Ajax fans who can't wait to see the back of him (too defensive minded for their liking). That's like us complaining about dropping below 65% possession though. Fair enough, but I've really been impressed by them in Europe. They've outplayed us often, at our own game.
  23. If and that's a huge IF, De Boer is really interested or could tie up, it would be a massive. I can't stretch enough how much I have loved his Ajax side every time we've played them in the past two seasons. That said, there's lots of rumours that he will be approached by one of the candidates to our presidency.
  24. They get quite a bit of criticism, tempered by the fact that one can't argue with the results, but that fuels into their fortress mentality imho.
  25. Alba's been great this season tbf, one of our standout players. I despise him, myself
