I love how over the past few weeks you have effectively became a resident Newcastle fan. It's weird isn't it? At least most of the other foreign lads can say they became attached to NUFC because of Keegan, or Shearer or Robson's tenure... me? Pardew has been the manager of the club for most of the time I've been a member of this board -

Man, dreading that he'll somehow luck out a win with a goal bouncing off Cisse's arse and he'll get his position cemented for a few more weeks AND always play that lineup from now on. -
I never saw anything in Hoddle that made me think he had the makings of more than an average manager. Always seemed to me he just had this aura because of how wonderful a player he was, and the fact he talked the talk.

Created most chances in PL without an assist this season. I know he isn't too popular here, but I thought he was one of your best players against Stoke (not saying much, I'll admit). -
He's doing great. Easily their best player after Baptistao and Trashorras. Apparently his contract runs out this summer, too?
-
Something to that effect, probably; Jémez sets up to play against Barça or Madrid in the same way as if he was playing Getafe or Leganés. Attack, attack, attack. Usually ends up badly for them. Jémez gets *a lot* of flack because of that, but there's a certain beauty to it, imho. That's how he believes football should be played, and he will play that way come hell or high water. Last season Rayo was the first team to win possession against Barça since 2008.

Valencia - Atlético and Rayo - Barcelona this afternoon. :nomalo:
-
Laudrup/Jémez, although I'm firmly convinced the first one wouldn't last longer than 18 months here - it would be some really good months imho. I'm a big fan of Jémez, and I really want him to manage a club that isn't utterly broke. I think you'd love his attitude at the very least.
-
Didn't know he had retired already, he's still relatively young. I guess he didn't fancy a career down the leagues too much.
-
I'm always amused by all those managers that go "he needs to adapt to the league" but then expect the player to do it by watching from the bench
-
BBC taking the piss out of Blackpool, methinks
-
Heh, I read that even the manager has sort of approved the walkout. Not likely to happen at NUFC.
-
What have they done? I don't pay much attention to the C'ship.

I don't think many Spaniards give a shit about the PL besides football hipsters, we're pretty insular in that. Gloryhunters already have Barça and Madrid, anyway. Liverpool used to be very popular when Benítez was in charge, but that's about it. -

They showed the Stoke game over there, right? We may never be on TV in Spain again. Yeah, they did and I watched it! To be honest the fact it was on a Monday meant there was nothing else to put on instead. -

Not on the Spanish telly, they are showing Liverpool - WBA instead -
http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/aug/13/jose-mourinho-louis-van-gaal-barcelona-shaped-seven-top-coaches Great read this, about LVG's influence on people he worked with at Barça, who've gone on to become successful managers. Hadn't realized that he worked with so many great managers-to-be during his spell here (Mourinho, Guardiola, Luís Enrique, Koeman, De Boer...)
-
And the other Manchester club is a midtable team now.
-
Such a slimy individual. Reminds me of Mourinho but without the talent to back it up.
-
I'm glad to see that Mou has such a good record against Leicester and Scunthorpe.

Piqué about his stay at ManU: "I wasn't afraid of Alex Ferguson. Roy Keane? Now that was different..."

Need to introduce Sherwood to Zidane's career and forehead.
