Fantasy Premier League 2014/15 - Svein best coach in da league
Village Idiot replied to LRD's topic in Football
I hate this fucking thing, why do I keep playing every year? It only brings me misery and despair -
I'm gonna stick the fucker in there and not move him until the end of the season, watch him now go into a 10 game barren run.

FFS. I just took him out of my FF team AGAIN.

Munir has been the handiest player for us today, just got a goal called off for outside (wrongly, I think). Come one, put one away...

Fucking hell, I hope Falcao scores tomorrow, twice I have taken Costa out because he was doubtful, and then he ended up scoring -
We should winning this easily, meh. Lots of missed chances and we should've had a couple pens.

He was great in Spain before moving to Arsenal, but he's always been defensively very suspect. Sure he might be OK somewhere else but does not look a good fit for the English game at all I haven't seen him play much since he moved to England, since he never seems to start whenever I catch Arsenal, so I don't know what's happened to him. He was pretty fearsome for Málaga during the Pellegrini years. He was expected to become Spain's starting LB until Alba came along.

Exact same midfield five Is that a good thing? Long term, I think I might go Falcao-Costa, and use the extra million from selling Agüero to boost the team elsewhere, getting some quality 3rd defender possibly. Depends on how Falcao settles, really. -
NUFC media bans - Telegraph now banned from club
Village Idiot replied to Anderson's topic in Football
That's an amazingly petty reason for a ban. This kind of rumours fly all over the place for several clubs. Media rooms would be quite empty if all PL clubs had the same thin skin as your owner. -
Pics or at least a name to google, please. I need to know everything related to such a great footballing prospect, of course.

I keep telling myself that Naismith is way too s*** to keep this up, but I will transfer him in. Going 3-5-2 this week anyway. Krul Moreno Evans Clyne Fàbregas Ramsey Sterling Sigurdsson Dyer Falcao (Costa back next week, most likely) Agüero Naismith, Wisdom, Hutton, Mannone on the bench. Plan to get Ben Arfa instead of Dyer after Hull play you and serves his "loan ban". -
stop cases like Man City being a league champion and in pot 3 couple of years back. Could have an interesting knock on effect on the big sides who don't win their league in a year (eg Arsenal, runner up of Real and Barca etc) bumps them down a pot. It won't change much imho. You'll have a bunch of league champions that are now usually in pot 2 (France, Italy, Portugal...) bumped up to pot 1 - and some big guys demoted to pot 2. Net effect is still a majority of groups with 2 big clubs and cannon fodder. I can only see some outlier cases where this makes a difference, like City of years ago or Dortmund when they won the league and were also in pot 3.
-
UEFA to tweak CL format: Pot 1 in the group phase draw will only be made up of the Top 7 league champions + defending CL champions. Not too sure this will change much the fact that most CL groups are two top teams + two fillers.

Thing about Sevilla, is that outside of their "core" set of fans in the city of Sevilla and nearby areas, they are pretty hated by everybody else in Andalucía.

I suppose the white areas weren't interviewed. Barring Álava, they are the equivalent of flyover states in the US, so nobody cares what they think.

The Spanish government survey agency has made a fun survey about the most popular Spanish football teams, per province: http://www.jotdown.es/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/mapa-1.png Pretty interesting this north/south divide, where the southern part of the country are mostly Real Madrid gloryhunters while the northern part follow their local teams more.

Yeah, Rafinha doesn't seem to be good enough imho. But he trusts him greatly. I like what Lucho is doing. He's upped the tempo of our play, and he encourages the team to try more daring passes when in possession, instead of just keeping possession for possession's sake. The team is also much more aggressive in order to get the ball back and move into attacking positions; we are not as static as we were last year or the one before that. It's still early days, but I'm happy so far. I'm still hesitant about our defense, which hasn't been properly tested so far. We still haven't conceded a single shot in goal.

He's only 19, no need to rush him. He'll make his senior debut this season, that's for sure. The lad's been playing professional football for only a year, and in a position where this kind of experience is needed, imho, because of the tactical intricacy of playing DM. I expect him to get a handful of apps this season, and take Xavi's place in the squad when he leaves next year.

QPR's wage bill probably accounts for several points of the English GNP, though.
-
Sad, but he's probably earning more at Hull than playing for one of the biggest clubs in Portugal.
-
So no Elias involved? Brazil fans:

Would quite probably show up in a Real Madrid one, too!

JFK, surely. To be fair to Joe now he didn't actually sign anybody. Anybody who payed 8 Mil for Boumsong, 18 Mil for Owen and 9 Mil for Luque is pretty s****. Can't remember us ever paying so much, for so many with so little talent. Hindsight is 20/20, but those two were great coups at the time, imho.
