Rooney-Falcao strike me as the most balanced combo up top. Get the feeling Van Persie and Falcao would get on each other's way.

Numbers don't tell the whole story, though. Negredo and Soldado played in more creative teams than Falcao. Falcao's ability to turn pointless balls into the general direction of the goal is just preternatural. He got diamonds out of the mud in a team that's amazing at strangling games but struggles to create chances outside set pieces.

By the way, there's been a lot of chaos in La Liga because of the new domestic financial rules. Clubs have now a wage bill limit derived from their revenue and there's been a boatload of last-minute transfers, releases, etc... because clubs found out they were exceeding it. Pedro León has been left out Getafe's La Liga squad because of this (which I'm not sure is completely legal).

Wellbeck is a good footballer, he just doesn't seem to have the attributes to excel in a position. He isn't creative enough to operate as a true attacking mid, and not clinical enough to be a striker. He has a collection of skills that just don't seem to lend themselves to a particular role he could be great at.

Falcao added for 11m. Guess other transfer deadline signings will be there too.

TBF I'm planning on putting him in as soon as he becomes a starter for Hull. He's potentially a FF points machine, particularly at a team like Hull where he's likely to be the focal point.
