2013 Confederations Cup - Brazil 3 - 0 Spain
Village Idiot replied to ponsaelius's topic in Football
We don't care enough about the tournament to not fuck up at some point, I just hope it's against somebody decent (just NOT Italy) and not an embarrassment like last time against the US. Teams like Tahití have a place in these tournaments, otherwise we might as well pick 20 European teams+Argentina/Brazil+couple of outsiders for the World Cups. Wonder who they will score their first flukey goal against, which will be news around the world. I bet it's against us. -

Well, I'm actually looking forward this now. -
Pellegrini to City confirmed. Toulalan to Atlético close to done, according to Spain's Cadena Cope. Joaquín to Fiorentina done deal too. Málaga's fire sale on full force.
-
Sergio Ballesteros reportedly decked Pepe in Real Madrid's dressing room. Plus myriad of other incidents; he's great at performing the intimidating c*** role.
-
Reacted the same. Every time the fee inches a little bit, so I guess it's all good for Celta
-
Pfeh, was excited about "Tata" Martino coming to La Liga, but I guess it's too soon for him to leave Newell's.
-
Finally been able to track the news down. He was released from hospital this morning after scans didn't show any head injury. UEFA has admitted 9th-placed () Sevilla into the EL, although CAS has still to rule on Rayo after upholding Málaga's ban.

Only 36! That's 18 in MLS years. 37 next month actually He didn't even cut it in Liga Adelante anymore, bar the occasional FK. His legs fell to pieces years ago.

You'd think having ownership of C.D. Guadalajara would be enough. They already employ a strict Mexican-only policy. Rare that something like that actually works...imagine a PL club hiring only English players. They would be in the same place as Valencia/Atlético if they didn't limit themselves though. Any more news on the New York City frankenstein? When it's supposed to join the league? At least I'll finally have a team I care about in the MLS, even if it's just to despise it.

Haven't heard a thing, so I assume he is allright.

2011 Nani is worth twice that. Problem is that 2013 Nani isn't...

I was preparing and doing my Uni entrance tests during the Euro 96. Our QF against England was played exactly during a one-day pause between both testing days

Racist. Should have gone to work like this: http://mexicanpeoples.weebly.com/uploads/1/4/0/5/14057947/4324897_orig.jpg

Cronaldo set to out-Alves Alves.

I won the thing with Costa Rica

I don't think he even knows what's done with his money to be frank. His dad is also in the complaint so I suppose it's on him. That's before he started winning ballon d'ors and s*** though, he wasn't that rich back then (for a top level footballer, that is)

Messi accused of fiscal fraud. €4m of marketing revenue not declared to the Spanish taxman between years 2006-2009.
-
The game was shit, that's probably the best memory you could have from it
-
I remember me and my friends (we were 16 ) retaliating against the local Italian restaurant after the Tassotti elbowing incident.
-
To be frank, I only have "consistent" memories of football (aka, how a full season/tournament went rather than flashes or single games) until I was around 10.

France 98 was one of our worst WCs to date, distinctly remember Zubizarreta's blunders against Nigeria. And then us romping to an absolute useless 6-1 win against Bulgaria. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the knockout phase a lot, the final took place at the same time of a music fest I was attending to, and they set up a giant screen to watch it. Remember the crowd whispering about the Ronaldo incident, not knowing for sure if it was a rumor or for real.. And the final itself was an absolute classic as long as you weren't Brazilian. Bergkamp's goal against Argentina (), the time when we thought Owen would be a superstar... wasn't Beckham red carded there too?
-
For some odd reason I barely have memories from the 1990 WC bar Schillaci and the countless hours I spent playing Italia 90.
-
Tbf though Real fans will lap that up, as long as it costs a f***ing fortune they are happy. No different to Barca We spend way less and usually way worse.

Argie friend tells me the golf buggy guy tried to cop a feel, but probably he's just defending Mascherano
