  1. Lucho makes 3 subs right after putting the game to bed[emoji38]
  2. Beautiful. Needs proper capturing and gifing.
  3. Not even Carver had the club in such a bad position IIRC, despite that abysmal run. But yeah, precedent is not encouraging.
  4. At the minute. We don't appear to have any tactics. McClaren is still figuring out how to set us up, 28 games into the season FFS I think anything from Benitez would be an improvement. He'd make us harder to beat in the short term and hopefully develop some sort of identity, in the long term. All moot, though. I don't think he'd come and I doubt we'd approach him. Yeah, he's out of the question, was speaking rhetorically. Maybe just the bounce and morale lift would be enough, but he's the kind of manager that needs time imho.
  5. It seems to me that Rafa would be a bad choice short term, since he'd need some time to drill his very tactical approach into the players (and a lot of the current players seem of the thick sort). Sadly NUFC needs solution short term.
  6. Las Palmas doing a great escape these past weeks, today with a win against Villarreal. I like them, so I'm pleased that it looks like they will escape the drop.
  7. And there you go, Arsenal doing an Arsenal.
  8. How was Suárez penalty record at Liverpool? He's been as terrible as Neymar/Messi since he joined. I'm starting to believe it's contagious.
  9. Looks like ManCity don't give a shit anymore. Wouldn't be surprised if Guardiola is managing a team in the EL next season.
  10. They have given up on the league. They are going to rest as many players as possible to go for the CL.
  11. Galatasaray hit with a 2 years European ban for failing to comply with FFP. I suppose they need to fry some small fish from time to time to make it seem like it's working...
  12. Thanks fellows, didn't really want to speak about that in here, but whenever I see Pochettino poised to potentially win the PL, I'm reminded of him.
  13. One of my best friends, an Espanyol fan, died in a crash two weeks ago. He loved Pochettino to bits, he would've been so happy to see him win the premier league
  14. We Catalans already turned the basketball CL into a closed shop. Watch and see us destroy football too
  15. There's a good chance it will yeah, the new ground lies far from traditional Atlético neighborhoods, while the Calderón sits in a prime location right on their turf. Espanyol has had the same trouble. Their new stadium is nice, but very far from their home area. Once the "new stadium" effect vanished, they have found themselves with reduced crowds and lots and lots of plastic seats on view.
  16. From the sale of the Calderón to the council+loans. The new ground belonged to the council and it's part of the deal. Don't forget that the Calderón sits above one of Madrid's most important thoroughfares, which the council wants to enlarge.
  17. Yeah, I found another site that credits him with 4 total, whoscored gave him 0. He's still been largely disappointing given the hype. That's for the transfer thread though.
  18. 0 goals, 0 assists in 24 games so far this season for their B team.
  19. Atlético's president confirmed they are moving to their new stadium in summer 2017, despite trouble finalizing the sale of the Calderón (a Spanish court found the rezoning of the ground to be illegal). State of the works: This is how it is supposed to look: http://www.losblanquillos.com/media/galeria/34/8/7/9/8/n_real_zaragoza_fondos-5828978.jpeg Doesn't have nearly half the character of the Calderón.
  20. Rumors going wild in the Madrid camp this week (it always happens when they implode) so take this with a huge grain of salt, but Marca running that Isco and James will be placed in the transfer list at the end of the season.
  21. He didn't have a bad run over here. Starred for Recreativo in their two seasons in the top flight, got himself signed by Atlético and was a regular off-the-bench for them. Quique Flores didn't seem to think much of him so he got sold, and it was downhill after that. His pace and power made him a reasonably effective player in this league, although he was a pretty limited player.
