  1. If I lived in London I think I'd probably support Charlton but I think they've got problems with their owner as well!
  2. If it was Man City or Spurs coming in for him instead of us, do you think he'd have the same mindset? Aye but it wasn't Man City or Spurs in for him. It was us. I'm being hypothetical No way is he choosing West Brom, even for a loan, if it was someone higher up the table than us. He had a choice. West Brom or Newcastle. West Brom are an established PL club. We aren't. I can see why he'd choose them. Personally I don't believe for a minute we'd have been prepared to pay the loan fee or his 100k a week wages but there you go. Not really. More of a yo-yo club. Not in the past Decade. They came up with us in 2010 and have been a PL club ever since.

  5. I very much doubt we were prepared to pay the loan fee or the 100k a week wages anyway. Probably just more posturing from the club similar to what they've done with the lad from Feyenoord.
  6. Hope he resigns. Nobody would think any less of him for doing that and then he'd be free to move on with a club more fitting to his stature in the game.
  7. Just seen Celtic are looking to loan a keeper... Pointless him going there to stand with his finger up his backside for 90 minutes whilst his team pummel the opposition.
  8. That he'd rather sign for Alan Pardew, a man with a history of ruining flair players, just shows you where we stand as a football club right now (as if anyone needed reminding). The squad is a million miles from being able to compete at this level and I think it's a fair bet that we're going straight back down to where we came from. The only difference being this time we don't have the luxury of having £100m worth of players we can cash in on to fund a Promotion push. SJP will be toxic on Wednesday night when Burnley go 1-0 up. Shame neither of the people it'll be aimed at will be anywhere near the place.
  9. You'll always get the little gloryhunters who'll support Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man Utd, Man City etc but most of them grow out of it when they get a bit older. I took my lad to a coaching session at Tyne Met College yesterday morning for 4-6 year olds and out of the 17 kids that turned out 8 of them were in Toon kits with the rest a mix of Barcelona and Real Madrid, with 1 Man City strip. That's not to say that the bairns wearing the Barca/Real strips actually support them mind. Mine has both those strips, amongst others, but is a Newcastle fan.
  10. Payback for the Tiote goal against them.
  11. Dembele was also class in the Championship as an 18/19 year old for Fulham. Really highly rated in France, got into the provisional France squad at the start of this season, had a hat trick for their u21s lately too Gayle was class in the Championship. Mitrovic is clinical at International level for Serbia yet neither can cut it in the Premier League.
  12. Scottish league is weaker than the Dutch league and they have similar domestic goalscoring records.
  13. Just stuck £20 on Chelsea to win the shoot out. I either get £35 back or we play Norwich in the next round.
  14. Probably. I think the NUST died a death and the Ashley Out group has lay dormant for a while. There's the Wor Hyem/Flags group but they are massively compromised and the club has them over a barrel.
  15. If I thought 30k wouldn't renew next season I'd do the same in a shot in the hope of forcing his hand but the reality is that 95%+ will renew because they see it as a day on the drink, a social occasion. Most of the rebels have probably jacked it in now so I doubt it'll even get too hostile anyway, not that he's ever venture within 300 miles of the place to see for himself. Maybe if Rafa walked that would stir a few people perhaps. That's fair, but I think that's where the problem lies within our fanbase as a whole. For some it may be a lack of will power, for some it's a case of waiting to see what others do, whereas for others it may be actually not being bothered enough to take it as far as a protest regardless of whether there's one or not and letting things run their course. Personally I stopped going in 2013 and promised myself I wouldn't even so much as buy anything from the club again until Ashley is gone. However if I knew that a good sum of fans were prepared to give up their seat for 1 game and protest with others outside the stadium for change at the club, I'd make sure I was there for it. I agree though that if Rafa walks then more people will be likely willing to do something to that level and finally hit Ashley in the pocket. Strength in numbers and all that. Totally agree but the one thing Newcastle fans have really struggled with over the years is uniting together for the greater cause. Too many different factions and egos probably made worse now that social media gives anyone a platform to spout their opinion. Even the Ashley and Pardew out groups recieved a mixed response even though it was blindingly obvious that they were created for the greater good of the club. You see the way the Liverpool fans rallied against Hicks and Gillett and more recently against plans to increase ticket prices through the Spirit of Shankley group that they are all on board with. Sadly we could never mobilise ourselves in that way.
  16. Shame. Would like like to have seen a bit more of him. Showed a lot of character to get that mistake against West Ham out of his system and turn in a good performance. Seems like Rafa has been told he needs to move a few out before he can bring anyone in.

  18. I couldn't care less if people go to the match or not. This isn't North Korea and we are free to do as we please. There's some great NUFC fans, people who've travelled all over the world investing far more money and time than the likes of me watching NUFC who don't go anymore. I still maintain I can't see how people watching on a stream can dig at the atmosphere when they're not prepared to do anything about it as others have. Aside from that there's been plenty of occasions where I've came out of SJP thinking we really backed the team well only to watch it again on the telly and it sounding crap which is the case at all the big stadia in this country.
  19. These are from your last 20 posts, behave man It's like what I've said. Silly complaining about the atmosphere whilst you're sat at home watching on a stream. For a start you don't get a proper perspective of it anyway and most rational people would agree with that. Most of what I say on here is in response to cowardly digs against me as was the case in this boring conversation with yourself.
  20. I said people fail to see the irony when they're sat in front of a laptop watching a stream and complaining about the atmosphere at games. If it bothers them that much do something about it like the Wor Hyem/Gallowgate Flags did rather than whinge on here. I know loads of loyal supporters who no longer go to games for a variety of reasons so wind yer neck in there.
  21. Yet another pop at me by some cowardly nomark I see You must be a sensitive little snowflake if you deemed that "a pop" Flattered that with all the matchgoing fans on here you chose to single me out personally dear.
