  1. Must mean the new stadium at Everton. Hillsborough and Elland Road are absolute dumps tbf.
  2. He gets paid for absolutely nothing. He's literally written an article saying we might not spend any money in the next transfer window but then again we might. He gets paid a wage for this! Staggering!
  3. Not for the club. Sodexo Prestige is what shows on your bank statement when you buy any food or drink inside the ground.
  4. https://theathletic.com/1317587/2019/10/28/apathy-atmosphere-ashley-the-stories-behind-6335-empty-seats/ Hard to believe this was only 3 years ago! Talk about a club being reborn.
  5. The Premier League literally did everything in their power to stop it!
  6. Ultimately we have to take the takeover at face value. PIF had to legally prove separation from the State before the Premier League could rubber stamp the takeover. I still don't see what the fuss is about.
  7. I won't pretend to know much about the goings on in Saudi Arabia but I think what they've done over here is fantastic regarding having a woman as the face of the football club, and also what they've done for womens sport in the area with the NUFC womens football team and how they've promoted them from a team playing in front of 100 fans to a regular crowd of 2,000+ and a SJP crowd of 22,000 with an even bigger crowd expected to watch them later this month.
  8. History will show their average crowd rose by 600 whilst Di Canio was there however.
  9. It's all just made up shite tbh. I can guarantee that if a mackem came into my workplace (or the majority of workplaces) and started going around randomly calling people terrorists, at best he'd end up in a disciplinary and at worst he'd be off to A&E.
  10. That game basically ended Ginola's NUFC career.
  11. Exile is their spokesperson on there when it comes to Human rights and Yemen and even he's admitted in the past he couldn't have give a toss if PIF had bought any other club but ours. They are the ultimate hypocrites and are happy to admit it as well. It's nothing more than a coping mechanism for them but, like I said above this past year must have been absolute agony for them so if that's their way of dealing with it then fair enough.
  12. Same. He's the only one I've heard of because he seems to score most the goals but if he walked past me in the street I'd have no idea who he was. The gulf between the 2 clubs now must be at an all time high, not just in a financial sense, and it's just going to get bigger and bigger as the years go by. I know we mock and laugh them for their deranged ramblings about us these days and they are a great source of humour to us but I genuinely don't know how I'd cope if the roles were reversed so I try and cut them a bit of slack at least. It must be like being in a living nightmare for them!
  13. It isn't already cantilevered. It's currently on a very shallow rake that can easily be altered.
  14. Had an interesting discussion last night with a friend of mine who works inside SJP and he'd been in discussion with the Facilities manager (I didn't even know we had one!) and the topic of a SJP expansion arose. The club have been in regular dialogue with the local authorities for a while and a list of options have been brought to the table. The obvious one is an 8,000 expansion of the Gallowgate end, which basically extends the Milburn Stand all the way around to the East Stand. 2 main obstacles, Strawberry Place and the Metro Station. However the club are pretty confident that this can be done. Tentative plans for a 4,000 expansion of the East Stand are also in place. This would bring the height of the East Stand up to the height of the current Gallowgate End. If you look at the San Siro it's built in a similar design. 3 higher sides and a slightly smaller one and this would being capacity up to between 64k-65k. We all know the main issue here. Encroachment onto Leazes Terrace and the problem of the building getting sufficient natural light. This could be overcome by cantilevering the upper tier of the East Stand and with a far steeper rake than the current design. A glass designed roof that lets light through as with the current Milburn/Leazes Stands would need to be added. Needless to say the cost would be massive, but PIF have a vision to grow their initial £300m investment 10 fold into a club worth upwards of £3bn and, aside from the obvious of being succesful this is another great way of doing it and they are adamant that a move to a new stadium isn't an option. As for timescales, all he said is that there is a confidence that the UK will win the bid for Euro 2028 and that it would be done in time for that.
  15. I'm aware of that. The point was it's basically due to go at any time now and I wonder if subconsciously he'd be thinking one sprint, one stretch tomorrow and that's the World Cup dream gone forever. Could apply that to a lot of players, but especially him given his age and injury record.
  16. When you've got an injury record like Wilson I think it's inevitable that it would be in the back of his mind. His hamstring is liable to go at any time, and that one sprint or stretch tomorrow could be his World Cup dream over (he'll be 34 by the time the next one comes round).
  17. Must have thought he was fine to play. It's been a hallmark of Howe since he arrived, that he's held players back. The polar opposite to what Bruce would do. The fact that he hasn't trained with the team all week suggests he won't start tomorrow. Time will tell, but I'd be surprised.
  18. Prepare to be shocked mate! I don't think he starts tomorrow. Seems strange considering it was only supposed to be a cold but Howe won't start players unless they're 100%.
  19. Yeah I think he misses out this time but he's got another 3 World Cups left in him after this one so no big deal. I doubt he's expecting a call up tbf.
  20. The England job is a massive downgrade on a Premier League job these days, especially the one he's currently got. Nowadays the England job is for the likes of Allardyce, McClaren, Hodgson, Southgate. It hasn't got the prestige it once had. It's for has beens or never was. No chance of him leaving us for England.
  21. They were louder than they were for the League game. We were sat i Bar1892, nearer to the Gallowgate and could hear them loud and clear.
  22. Dunno why they did that. Seemed a bit pointless. Did the same v Cambridge in the FA Cup last season as well. They had a smaller segregation when we used to play Sunderland.
  23. 1. Same as Palace I reckon. All the more room for us. Will be another 51,000+ home fans able to go.
