Heaton Stan is your closest club to SJP in the Northern League down the pyramid. None of this County Durham / South Tyneside shite. Play in black and white stripes as well. No pubs within spitting distance though Canny clubhouse though and the Newton Park is an excellent pub and a 15 minute walk away. The Newton is okay. I'm not a huge fan of chain pubs like Hungry Horse tbh. A quick google sees that the Newton is 0.5 miles away. I'd rather walk an extra 0.3 miles and drink in the Brandling Villa or the Millstone Surpised they are closer tbh. You could add the Victory to that list as well then.

We only had 50,388 v Arsenal under Steve McClaren and since then we've lost around 12k season ticket holders. Added to that there's a very well publicised boycott occurring and there's not a chance of the crowd being over 50k. On another note, is it just my phone or have they completely greyed out the stadium plan to hide the masses of green, but are now allowing you to click on the grey areas to purchase tickets?

Everyone's circumstances are different, don't beat yourself up over it. For what it's worth I reckon old people and young kids get a pass on all this stuff anyway. Agree with this like. There was a lass on Twitter getting some stick for renewing. She even said she hadn't wanted to but she has an autistic son and if they change their routine it causes massive distress for him and he sees SJP as his "safe place." For for that reason alone, cancelling would have caused no end of problems. Not that she should have to explain herself anyway but you can't blame the likes of her for still going.

We're still about even for the transfer window after getting £35m for Perez and Joselu. Even by signing him the "warchest" remains virtually untouched.
-
Fair play mate. That's a bigger hit than most will have taken but you've done it for the right reasons. He's there as long as we are there. An empty ground sees him gone as then there's no football club for him to own once that happens.

On the verge of a £36m signing and literally nobody could give a fuck

Liverpool at xmas and also last pre season got beat 4 nil off sporting braga in a pre season dead rubber. you still got your season ticket marra ? aye ahaha you fucking mug

Two comments I've heard already; "What did people expect? Wolves are in the Europa league so are 2 weeks ahead of us which makes all the difference" "We didn't want to win that game anyway because we'd have to play Man City if we did" I pointed out that we actually beat Man City last time we played them but it seemed to fall on deaf ears.

It won't be anywhere near full nest season. Look at the stadium plan there's about 25k gaps to fill v Arsenal. No way are 25,000 people who haven't already committed suddenly going to rock up and by season tickets or single tickets for the match.
-
As things stand there's huge gaps in the East Stand (unheard of), massive gaps in the front of the Leazes and even a sizeable, and very noticable amount in the Gallowgate. Season ticket holders boycotting can be added to that. I reckon it's going to look very sparse v Arsenal and will get the media noticing. Sky won't be able to gloss over it.

lowest attendance for opening home game of the seaon for how many years? It will creep up. 43,546 there against Aston Villa in 2010 in the PL. Season before 36,944 against Reading in the Champ. Reading brought around 300 fans. Arsenal will bring over 3000. Crowd v Arsenal might be slightly higher but there might be fewer home fans in than there was v Reading.

This already been posted? (Can't be arsed to scroll through it all) http://www.insidefutbol.com/2019/07/16/bruno-genesio-was-takeover-choice-super-agent-on-coach-as-mike-ashley-keeping-newcastle/429122/

I'll go with 37k v Arsenal, assuming they sell their 3.2k allocation.
-
You can add at least another 1k to the amount of available seats in the Leazes. They've greyed out nearly all of W/X block even though that's the least popular part of the stand and only ever has a very small % of season ticket holders in it.
-
Operating profit for 17/18 was £17.6m (last season's numbers won't be out for a while) - let's say a ST is on average £600 taking into account concessions- and that's about 30,000 They make around £30m per season through gate receipts. The average occupied seat generates roughly £30 per spectator per game.
-
Never heard of him. Not really interested. Doubt he'll do as well as Rondon did.
-
What does that mean like? The areas that are green mean that there are seats available to buy season tickets there. The ones that aren't green mean there arent any seats available to buy season tickets Not just that, but green means there is a high availability. It usually goes amber when it’s reduced, and red when it very low availability. Not now it doesn't. Green = availability and grey = sold out.
-
No they didn't sell out last season. Quite a few on 1 year deals chucked it last summer after the 20% price increase. I reckon about 22k sold baring in mind they've clearly "greyed out" loads of seats that obviously haven't been sold.
-
Used to be a waiting list for all those green blocks in L7. Around 2k available tickets up there now!
-
I don't believe that for a minute! Why would anyone who didn't bother last season rush out to buy one as soon as they go on sale for this season after what's happened. I reckon your mate is full of shite and he must be thick as pig shit as well to let his season ticket lapse so that he loses any loyalty discount and now has to pay the price increase.
-
The high availability in the East Stand tells you all you need to know about how season ticket sales have collapsed. There hasn't been as much availability in there since the summer of 1991. This is where the majority of the oldest, most longest serving fans sit, many of them have sat there since it was opened 45 years ago, and you can now buy 2 seats together on half way which is unheard of since the season ticket culture kicked in. Sales are definitely well below 25k and I'd estimate nearer to 20k than 25k as well. The penny is finally dropping!
-
Don't be fooled. They've done exactly what I thought they might and have simply not released 1000's of unsold seats for sale. The giveaway is that if you click on 2 of the most unpopular areas, namely Leazes L4, blocks W and X where, even under Rafa when season ticket levels were very high, these areas were still less than 50% populated by ST holders, they are are now showing all but sold out, but cleverly they've kept the odd 2, 3 or 4 seats available scattered around in case any idiot wants to buy, and take their family along with them. Also, one of the lads I work with, who hasn't renewed, checked to see if they'd released his seat when they went on general sale this morning and his is still greyed out. Personally I'd take the stadium plan with a pinch of salt if using it to try to gauge how many haven't renewed.
