Numbers 5 and 6 used to be the centre halves back in the day before squad numbers.

Should be 45,000+ there tomorrow then and Preston only bringing 1k as well. Wonder if their manager, Simon Grayson, still believes that remark he made when he was managing Leeds in league One and we were supposedly interested in signing Jermaine Beckford off them. He said it would be a step down for him leaving League One Leeds to sign for Premier League Newcastle United. Always thought of him as a bit of a tit since then.

They won't go down. This turd just won't flush.

Happy Birthday Jack! Please feel free to leave your birthday wishes below......

Thing is I don't like him but if he plays well I'll say so and he's been playing well of late. That's why he's keeping Hayden out the team.
-
It's a hell of a rest he's giving Hayden if that's the case!
-
Chuffed for him yesterday. Hopefully that'll be the boost to his confidence he badly needed.
-
Same here. I'm not sure what agenda I'm supposed to have, except watching Jack Colback play football many times and observing that he's cack at it. Rafa's clearly seeing something that you're not then as he prefers him at this moment in time to Hayden and Tiote.
-
He was ineffective and chased shadows. He executed a few routine passes and did little else. He'll get a 7/10 in most of the papers tomorrow because that's what his performance merited. Like i said too many people have an agenda so won't give him any praise regardless. Rafa must be happy with him as he continues to pick him ahead of Hayden. You probably think he hates Sunlun almost as much you too Tbh I'm not really interested in his thoughts about Sunderland. If that's why people hate him well that's up to them.

He's done well lately no denying it. I believe this is his level mind but I'll give credit where it's due whether I like a player or not. If we get promoted I'd expect Rafa to move him on.

The Gallowgate is OK but because the away fans are so far away they can't really hear us. For that same reason I never heard the Ipswich fans singing that. One thing I will say is that the fans in the Leazes End may as well not bother turning up for what they contribute in terms of atmosphere and support to the team. Shame because it used to be canny in there but it's just full of sour faced b******s nowadays. As opposed to arrogant tosspots who think they're Gods gift to football supporters. ^^^One of the aforementioned sour faced b******s right here ^^^ If you can't take it don't dish it out man. Try improving the atmosphere that doesn't come out of the Heaven sent Strawberry corner first. It's you who appears not to be able to take the facts. That'll by why you started with the abuse. Approx 13k NUFC fans in the Leazes and they all sit on their backsides for 90 minutes in complete silence other than to let out the odd moan. No wonder the away fans mock you.

He's had plenty of good games this season. That's why Rafa keeps picking him.
-
Were you there yesterday? Yeah. He was getting stick from around me as well. Obviously we dominated the game, but in the context of that he contributed almost nothing. Got no stick from anyone round me. Thought he did well, as he has done most of the season which is the reason Rafa is picking him ahead of a good player in Hayden. Some people have just got an agenda and will criticise him regardless unfortunately. We do seem to have a large percentage of whingers in our crowd. Gladly not near where I sit.

My cousin works for them in the corporate hospitality dept although he's looking for a new job. I don't see much of him but bumped into him at a family funeral last week and he was saying it's an impossible job there now. His role is to get new business in, sell boxes, sell corporate seating etc and literally nobody is interested. They've been cold called ex box holders/corporate clients all season and there's just no take up at all and he's under loads of pressure because his bosses are asking him why he can't get customers in. He also said they're giving away unprecedented amounts of free tickets this season. Ticket drops into the 1000s at Sunderland Uni as well as the colleges in the Sunderland/County Durham/South Tyneside areas. Aside from that they're handing out free tickets to schools and local businesses in the area and they've also started a scheme where any Nissan worker can buy a match ticket for a tenner on production of their pass. If they go down they're screwed. They generate next to no money outside of the Premier League tv cash nowadays and still have a huge wage bill to service, with few saleable assets as well as mounting debts.
