  1. The money they recieve off sky for broadcasting the match will more then cover the additional expense I'd expect.
  2. They might hate us now but they'll miss us when we're gone.

    England

Atmosphere always sounds abysmal at Wembley.
  4. Always thought of Leeds as a big game that has a bit of an edge about it. Haven't played them for a while now (other than that League Cup game) so maybe not so much for the younger fans though.
  5. Glad he's no longer our problem, off our wage bill and that Spurs were daft enough to fork out £30m for him on the back of a couple of decent games in the Euros.
  6. We'll get 8000 won't we? The whole Darwen End? Think it's just over 7k these days because they don't sell the seats in the first few rows anymore. I blame myself for that because I was put in the very front row when we beat them 2-1 in an FA Cup replay in 1995 and I ran on the pitch when Clarkie scored 5 minutes before the end. Wrestled to the ground off 3 stewards and thrown out but as the gates were all open because the match was almost finished I simply walked back in again. Stayed in the ground for 45 minutes after the final whistle singing "Walking in a Keegan Wonderland" as I think he'd sold Andy Cole the week before and took a bit of stick from the fans.
  7. and right next to the posh seats Don't see the problem. It's not like they haven't been there before.
  8. It's fine as it is. Don't remember any complaints the last few years when our away numbers were starting to dwindle. Go to the less glamorous fixtures to build your points up and then over the course of time you'll qualify for the higher demand games. Seen people on twitter whinging on at the club this week because they're not getting a look in for away tickets this season. One person wasn't even a season ticket holder yet he was complaining that he wouldn't get a Forest ticket. Not sure what he was expecting from a 2000 allocation mind. So far this season 5 away games have gone to zero points so even when tickets are in high demand the opportunity is still there to build up points.
  9. They'll put the away fans in the Leazes West Corner levels 2 and 4. It's the biggest corner in the ground, is the closest to where the away buses park up and is just underneath where the away fans used to go when the stadium was expanded in 2000.
  10. If he gets a ban I'd like to see Rafa play Diame in a more central midfield role alongside Hayden with Gayle and Mitrovic up top.
  11. We are walking away with the league. What's that now 7 wins in a row? They had to do something to make it a bit more exciting. If he's out for 5 games that's a huge blow because he's been our most important player this season. Hopefully he denies it and the case collapses due to lack of evidence.
  12. Were getting 2,002 tickets which is pathetic really in a 30k stadium which is always 10k short of capacity. Not sure why this growing trend has come in where clubs would rather have blocks of empty seats instead of paying supporters sat there. After all it is supposed to be a spectator sport is it not? Because they will probably sell out the stadium for our game. Just like Leeds have. That remains to be seen I suppose. Personally I don't think they will. We could sell out more of our home tickets to Newcastle fans so maybe it's a route we should go down as well. Just seems to be a growing trend this season. Villa kept a stand closed rather than give us more tickets as did Barnsley and as will Hull.

Clearly the 3,000+ or 10% of capacity rule doesn't apply in the Championship so I think we should go down the Leeds/Forest route and cut the away allocation when we play them up here. We can sell the tickets to Newcastle fans instead.
  14. Aye no sympathy for them whatsoever. Hope he finishes off the job and takes them down. Passing them on the way back up would be nice.
  15. Gets canny from page 50 when people start talking about this Diame fella that was playing for Hull and then Ujpest comes in with some pretty good wumming on page 51.
  16. That's a bit daft tbh. He's been gone best part of 2 years now. If you can't get behind Rafa, and what he's trying to achieve, because of a manager who left nearly 2 years ago and is no longer our problem then you'll always be bitter. Great times to be a Newcastle supporter. The best since the Robson era. Shame you've allowed Alan Pardew to let you miss out on it. It's like when you fall out of love with someone. You can't just turn it back on like a tap. I spent that long either wishing us to get beat or not giving a s*** that eventually it became impossible to do anything else. I hope it'll come back but I can't say I'm terribly confident while the other one remains at the helm as I'm still loath to give him a single penny. I hope that in time you'll be able to come back. Sad when loyal fans are staying away still. Ironically I spent almost an hour yesterday morning talking to Keith Barrett, a more loyal and committed NUFC you couldn't meet. He's never attended a Newcastle match since he was banned in 2009 and hates Ashley with a passion, more than he could put into words as he said. He said he very much doubts he'd ever set foot inside SJP again.

Great times to be a Newcastle supporter. The best since the Robson era. Shame you've allowed Alan Pardew to let you miss out on it. I don't get this great time to be a Toon fan thing like. Just remember who our owner is. Oh and we are in the Championship. It's a better time to be a Toon fan thus far since Ashley took over admittedly. But then this was probably felt when KK walked through the door or when we smashed the mackems 5-1 or finished 5th. Me I cannot hold onto this so-called good time because I'm fearful of the f*** up that's no doubt around the corner. Enjoy it while it lasts. I reckon Rafa will not be here by year 3... I'm enjoying watching Newcastle more now than I was pre Ashley under the likes of Souness and the back end of the Roeder era for example. The division we are playing in doesn't really matter to me. The 92/93 season is probably my favourite of all time and we were a 2nd Division team then. Agree with what you say about Ashley though. Just hoping he stays in the background and let's Rafa run the club the way he wants bit it'll be interesting to see if he continues this stance of staying in the background should we be promoted. I'm not so sure.

  19. Probably headed for the semis of the cup as well. That is going to be special. Can't see any of this overconfidence Rafa's on about.
  20. One of the worst away followings I've ever seen up here. Especially considering it was a Saturday 3pm match.
  21. I was at that one. Think it was earlier than that though. Dalglish era perhaps? Also witnessed some brilliant wins there, the 4-3 Solano last minute winner being the pick.
  22. Thought it was better just placing them under random seats than asking for volunteers because 99% of people will wave a flag if it's there for them but far less will actually volunteer. I didn't volunteer but when I got to my seat yesterday 15 mins before kick off there was a flag placed under my seat (the big Newcastle city coat of arms one) so I gladly waved that up until kick off. It seemed to go down very well yesterday and some of the pictures I've seen on twiiter/facebook this morning look amazing. As a side note did anyone notice the ball boy sat in front of the Gallowgate corner? He was constantly up off his stool joining in with all the songs and even turning round to orchestrate the crowd at times. Seemed to be having the time of his life!
