There's always one! Try winding yer neck in and read it again. I've bought a £34 Student ticket, i'd imagine a kids ticket is a lot cheaper again. At the end of the day I aint paying £42 to watch a match that I can watch on the telly. In fact I wouldn't pay £42 even if it wasn't. £34 is still a lot of money but i'll pay it because i'd rather be there and because they've priced the tickets so high for this game it won't sell out anyway so they can be happy that they're getting my £34 instead of nowt at all.

Get a students (£34), the people on the turnstiles will be non-the-wiser. Hmmm. Just went back on and tried this and sure enough I can change the ticket to "student" which brings the price down to a slightly more acceptable £34. The £8 saving is my 4 pre match pints in the Bulls but will they not ask for student ID or owt at the turnstile? Must admit usually the turnstile operators don't really seem to give a s*** although i've always had an adult ticket since the electronic turnstiles came into operation a few years ago, and there aren't normally any stewards around once you are through the turnstile. Could be worth the risk. I don't think they care, try to pick out an old-looking woman or something. When i went in the SE Corner for a cup game (forgot who), a bought a kids and when a went through the turnstiles he said "you don't look like a kid" but still let is through. So it probablies will be worth the risk, and anyway you could be doing a adult course @ Newcastle College for all they know! I've bought it now. £34. I'm only 32 and could probably pass for late 20's so hopefully there'll be no problem with me looking too old. Putting myself in the turnstile operators shoes I couldn't be arsed holding up a big queue of people to check if someone has a student ID or not and if they do say owt i'll just say I haven't got anything on me but I had to prove I was a student when I bought the ticket at the ticket office a week earlier.

Was planning on going to this. Went onto the online ticket office last week, picked out my seat in the Gallowgate East Corner, went to check out and was quoted £42. Went to "clear basket" and logged back out. Wouldn't pay £42 to watch any football match let alone one that's on Sky. I'll be at the Birmingham game though as that same seat is only £25 for that match.

Agree 100% with this. The more northern league teams that take the plunge and go for promotion the easier it will get as the travelling is the big stumbling block at present with the majority of teams in the next league up being from the north west. Safety in numbers if you like.

He's a cracking player mate. Went to watch Benfield v Blyth in the Northumberland Senior Cup last week and he would walk into that Blyth side at the minute.

Gareth Williams?

They announced just after Christmas that they would be applying for Promotion but they need to finish in the top 2 to do that. At the moment they are 5th but should they win their games in hand they would move up to 2nd so they have every chance. Interestingly since they applied for promotion they have won every single game since so it appears the manager and players are desperate for it. No reason why they couldn't make a go of it at the next level as I think they already get higher crowds than all but 1 team in the Evo Stik Division 1 and they had their ground graded not long ago and Hillheads was given the green light to host Northern Premier League football.

Since beating Poole Town on Saturday and qualifying for the FA Trophy Final at Wembley for the 3rd consecutive year Whitley Bay have also won 2 further league games; 2-0 at Norton & Stockton on MOnday night and 1-0 at Stokesley last night meaning that they have won 18 games on the spin now and smashed a club record set in 1954. They are at home to Ashington on Saturday. It's a fiver to get in (£3 concessions) and with us not playing until Sunday it would be good if a few Toon fans could get along to support them. They had almost 3,000 there on Saturday and over 600 at their last home league game which is incredible for Northern League level.

Me too mate Looks like a 50,000 + crowd for this one. Other than the edges of the Gallowgate Upper and the wing sections of the Platinum Club the rest of the ground is as good as sold out. Looks like around 50k sold already, especially as Wolves have sold out so could be over 51k by kick off. Incredible considering we have 4 home wins all season.
-
Another great result for Whitley yesterday and to win 2-1 despite being 1-0 down after 89 minutes for the 2nd time in 3 away games is remarkable. Think they're unbeaten in something like 24 matches in the Vase now and have won their last 15 games in all competitions this season. The club record is 16 consecutive wins and this was set in the mid 1960's I think so they can equal that and book a trip to Wembley all in one go on Saturday. Shame the 2nd leg clashes with NUFC v Wolves.

Unless I have a drastic change of heart I will be getting my season ticket in the Gallowgate East Corner for next season. For a combination of great view/atmosphere I don't think you can beat it.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

PL rules mean that the away section needs to be extended and the family enclosure was sold out last year so understandably they want to extend that. The fact that the vast majority of the anti Ashley chants start from up there would also be a strong factor I would suggest. Hopefully they will get things sorted out and that it suits as many people as possible. Personally I think that having our most vocal fans closer to the pitch can only be a good thing and with them now being in the "main bowl" of the stadium the potential for more and more fans to join them is now much better. I would also like to think that the club will help these supporters out financially. After all they are being moved out against their will and asking them to pay out an extra £150 or so on last seasons prices is a bit much in my opinion. I'm sure these are the sort of things that Colocho/Jordan/Steve are on the case of though.

Urgh. I'd imagine that it's this kind of attitude which will be causing concern to the club, and those who already hold a season ticket in the L4 corner. What kind of attitude? Which you knew, of course. No, enlighten me Aye, OK. It was bolded in my original response. Is this better? And why should people be "warned" about others moving near to them? Not everyone in level 7 is a drunken charver idiot you know! Shock, horror! People at football matches wanting to sing and chant! If others need a warning of this then maybe they should be rethinking their leisure time plans. Actually it is, cos I was on my phone before and didn't see what you had bolded. So the fact that people want to sing and chant at a match is wrong in your opinion? Why? If they are blocking the view of a youngster or an OAP who is unable to stand up for long periods of course it's bloody wrong! I never said anything about standing up. I said singing and chanting! Once again all of Level 7 is blanketed by one opinion! Everyone who populates Leazes Corner stands up at games presently (nothing wrong with that, I am all for it) and if you're seriously suggesting that they will all come down to L4 and sit down throughout the match then you are deluded i'm afraid. No they don't, another lazy assumption. My bairn also goes to the match with me and has never complained about not being able to see. We have been in level 7 since before we all moved to the corner too. Someones in a pedantic mood today. Ok then roughly 99% of fans currently in Leazes corner stand up throughout the entire match. You must be living in cloud cukoo land if you think they will all suddenly stay in their seasts if they are moved to L4. Yeah, I'm in a pedantic fettle or maybe I'm a bit peed off that you feel that people in level 4 should be "warned" they might have their peaceful slumber on a matchday broken by the hooligans up in level 7 who dare to enjoy themselves at the match. Where has anyone mentioned "hooligans" you drama queen?

So the fact that people want to sing and chant at a match is wrong in your opinion? Why? Where did I say it was wrong? However, it's not just the singing and chanting, is it? The vast majority also stand, as others have pointed out. I know you're embarking on another moral crusade to protect those who occupied L7C, but you've given a real insight into the attitude of most, if not all, of the people who sat there. It's this attitude that will cause problems when attempting to relocate to an area where this behaviour is not 'the norm'. Nail on head. That's why I think it's vital that Colocho/Jordan/Steve Wraith continue to work with the club to make sure that distruption to other season ticket holders is kept to a minuimum. Of the non corporate areas inside SJP i'd say that the corner they are currently proposing to move the more vocal people into is currently the most subdued which is bound to cause concern to those already sat there. That's why I put forward the Gallowgate Upper. Capacity circa 4,000, currently less than 1,500 ST holders in there, and a good number of those already there at present sing/stand anyway so their matchday experience should hopefully improve with the addition of more likeminded people. Don't think this would be the case in L4C.

When are you presenting this to the club? Not before it has 2500 signatures. Hope you weed out all the joke ones first mate. Signee #1474 is a Mr Niall Quinn of Sunderland! Haha, bound to be a few of them. Not a lot I can do about that to be honest. I think the overwhelming majority on there are genuinue. Aye it would seem so to be fair. Suppose you'll always get the odd one.

Urgh. I'd imagine that it's this kind of attitude which will be causing concern to those who already hold a season ticket in the L4 corner. Exactly. I ended up in Leazes L4 for the Blackpool game at the start of the season and I can safely say that the majority in there wouldn't have been too happy about having to stand up for 90 minutes. Personally I would rather stand for 90 minutes and sing but some people need to understand that doing that isn't everyones cup of tea. Some are too old to stand for long periods, others just like to sit and watch the match.

Very suprised at that as i've always found the ticket office staff very helpful on the very rare occasions i've had a problem. What did he ring them for anyway? Surely if you're being moved you just need to state the area you wish to move into on your renewal when you send it in unless i'm missing something here rather than having to ring them up. Simple maths would dictacte that if evey season ticket holder in Leazes corner wants to move down to Level 4 they can as there's plenty space for everyone and they have already been told they get priority over any other ST holder wanting to relocate. I wonder if the current level 4 ST holders are being "warned" about their new neighbours for next season?

Can't be much in it between there and the Gallowgate Upper Tier though. When tickets for home games go on sale 4 of the 5 sections in Gallowgate show as "good" availability and the other section shows as "very good". Also the Gallowgate Upper has a larger capacity than North West corner L4. Just bought one in the Upper just now. Excellant availabilty. My row has only myself and one or two more that have been in for the long haul. The rest have gave up the ghost. Was up there for the Chelsea game in November and couldn't believe how empty it was. The Gallowgate Upper must hold 4,000 and there can't be much more than 1,000 season ticket holders up there these days. Atmosphere was still canny mind with most people where I was standing for the entire match as well. That's why I think it would be ideal for a new singing section.
