It wasn't a bad result though. You're trying to be edgy and going against the grain here but unfortunately are just making yourself look a bit silly. He's rubbish and it's a simple as that.
-
Pretend you think he's great all you like pal. Anyone with eyes can see otherwise though.
-
He's been fucking terrible mate. Just accept it.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed

The one that ended up where the ball goes in the back of the net? Great. -
He never once gets his head up and has a look to see who is supporting him. When people go on about players with a footballing brain this lad has absolutely nothing upstairs.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed

Literally everyone in the Lowther was shouting that he'd left too much room to his right for the free kick before James stepped up to take it. Guess what happened? -
Just showed how thick and unaware he is though in truth.

As soon as I seen this cunt was ref i knew there would be bother today. Him and his brother, who has a fetish for dogs, ironically given the topic title, have always had something against us. Still remember the dog shagger sending Coloccini off v the mackems for absolutely nowt. Got rescinded but that was no good to us afterwards.

We stayed in Watford for the League Cup Final and every single local we spoke to wanted us to win.
-
Haha brings back some childhood memories does that!

Sad news. Iconic Northern League Club. Still remember when they won the Vase in 1999 and beat Colchester in the FA Cup around the same time. They had some team back in those days.

Proud to say I saw zero NUFC fans get the Ballard on the back of their shirt after he scored an OG and gave away a penalty the previous time we played them. We are their lives but the feeling is never reciprocated to that level from our side. That simply comes with us being involved in Cup Finals and huge Champions League games. Sunday is always going to be as big as it gets for them.
-
We used to be on the divide line up there and that 5-1 against them was just off the scale. My mate got chucked out by 2 coppers when Nolan scored the 2nd for "over celebrating"
-
Erm, well as I agreed with the general sentiment of the banner I'm going to have to say the individual.
-
My season ticket was in the balcony bit but right on the divide between us and the away fans and with it being a big day out for the other teams they usually filled their allocation so I was literally just a few feet away from them. The banter was exceptional. Absolutely loved it up there. Was gutted when the fat Cockney rapist ruined it.

Shame that never got off the ground cos the combined capacity of the NW corner (I'd have gone the whole hog and thrown in L2 as well) would be almost 6,500 and that would have been a real game changer in terms of atmosphere when you think the Strawberry Corner only holds around 1,800. Almost 8,500 fans stood in opposite corners would have made a fair old racket.

That bottom bit is me to a tee. Got an email earlier about Bournemouth tickets. I didn't even read it. Just pressed delete. Tbf the Domestic cup prices are pretty reasonable, especially the League Cup, but again the atmosphere will be grim and I'll enjoy it more watching it on the telly, whilst saving the ticket price.
-
Aye but the atmosphere when we had the Ashley/Bruce combo was even worse than it is now. You could literally go a full 90 mins without a single chant breaking out! And I'm not just talking about the COVID games either.

This is a great post btw and you are right, the club need to be very careful here. Was reading a very interesting article on Spurs earlier. Now I'd say that Spurs are pretty much the nearest club in England to us in terms of fanbase size and they've recently moved into a new ultra modern 62,000 seater stadium. They boasted that they had 80k on a season ticket waiting list not so long ago but over the last couple of years, through a mixture of high ticket prices, declining football, and poor atmosphere (remind you of anyone here?) a lot of their hardcore support have wrapped it in. Now Spurs, especially being in London, banked on the tourists coming in and replacing them so there wasn't really much concern but it hasn't quite turned out like that. Their last 3 home Cup games (2 CL, 1 LC) have seen a total of 45,000 empty seats, and for League games they have had to scrap their members only policy for buying tickets (remind you of anyone here?) and open them up for General sale to fill up the seats. Whilst we aren't at that stage yet I've noticed our last few games have been very easy to get tickets for on the day of the game suggesting demand at our place is also dwindling. As the old saying goes. Be careful what you wish for.

You can't replace them which is the problem. In years gone by they replaced themselves by migrating to other parts of the ground. In my dad's time as a youngster the younger, daftest lads would generally congregate in the old Leazes End (in the 60s and early 70s), then they might move over to the Gallowgate which was a bit calmer, then maybe the Popular side or the West Stand Paddocks and then maybe the West Stand itself. It meant you always had like minded people of similar ages grouped together. Even in my Youth in the 80s and 90s you had the Corner and the Scoreboard. Then as people got older they'd move along to the Gallowgate L Section and then along to the M section or The Old Mans corner as it was called back then. After that they'd likely end up in either the East or Milburn Stand or paddocks. You never had 1000s of people of OAP age stood behind the goals. It just didn't happen.
-
You get a great perspective of the problem right at the back of the Gallowgate. All those motionless dummies sat below you in the middle tier all the way round to the NW corner, then it seems to pick up down at the front and then you have the corner who try their best.
-
Would never happen in the Gallowgate End. The simple reason being the average age of the middle tier is probably around 60 these days. A section holding around 4k people in our so called "home" end and it's full of OAPs sucking the life out the place. Front and Upper seems a bit more youthful and lively, just a bit, but in truth it's a non starter. I wagered it on hwre at the time but I got told to sit down in the Gallowgate last season as I was stood up getting ready to watch us take a penalty You look at just about every PL ground and fans stand behind at least one of the goals, in the case of Man Utd, Leeds, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham (probably just so they can see a bit better tbf) and Villa it's both, but off the top of my head there's only us and Bournemouth who are sat down behind both goals. Chelsea on Saturday. 4th home game in a row I've never entered the ballot. Until this season I'd entered evey one unless I was on holiday or knew I wouldn't be able to get off work. The way I see it is if there's no atmosphere anyway I'll save my 60 quid and watch it on the box. And that's exactly what I'll be doing.
-
Would disagree with that. It's far worse nowadays. It has to be. It's a different type of fan who goes nowadays. An older, far more reserved type. It's a far more diluted experience than it used to be when I first started going in the 80s. I made a point the other week that even that roar that builds when we're attacking has even started to disappear. That's probably the most noticeable thing for me. The crowd don't give the players anywhere near the encouragement they used to. By the same tone we don't put anywhere near as much pressure on referees as we used to either. All of that contributes to atmosphere. It's not just about singing songs.

[LCQF] Newcastle United vs. Fulham: 17/12/25 @ 20:15 (Sky Sports/ITV)

Mate who's there and is watching the warm up seems to think Miley will play there. -
Local Hero was played before matches in the 92/93 season and up until the Grimsby game which became all ticket due to 7,000 being locked out v Tranmere all the standing areas were packed and hour before KO and there was no issue with Pre match atmosphere regardless of what was coming over the PA system. We had season tickets in the family enclosure then and we'd park up at the Dental Hospital around 2pm. As soon as we opened the car doors you could the fans singing inside the ground. You can play what you like or don't play anything at all. It isn't going to make any sort of difference to what the atmosphere is like during the match. I'm not even sure why it's a topic. It never used to be.
