  1. Maybe I'm putting 2 and 2 together here and coming up with 5 but it's blatantly obvious he's been holding secret talks with De Bruyne this week and unfortunately one of them has given the other one COVID.

Been a decent 6 weeks for the club I'd say. Just need to win a game aof football now and things are looking really rosy.
  3. It should be even louder than Spurs! Biggest game of the season this one. In fact I think these next 3 home games could well define our season. If we take 9 points it should at least make sure we are in touching distance of the teams in 17th and above when the transfer window opens. If we don't do well, baring in mind our other fixtures, we could almost be a lost cause cone January which will have a massive impact on who we can bring in. Add to all that there's now no Bruce or any of the other Steve's stinking the place out and it's our new managers (who has almost unanimous approval from the fans) first game it all points to an unbelievable atmosphere.
  4. They are all massive human rights activists these days so there won't be a dilemma for them as they won't be watching the World Cup. It'll be Division 3 all the way through for them.
  5. That's right they dragged the ticket office staff out of their pits and into work around 4am as it was just beginning to get a bit edgy. Remember they had gates next to where the Terrace pub is now (Milburn/Gallowgate corner) so you couldn't just walk up the bank like you can now and that's where the queue started. We got there at 7pm and joined the queue behind the East Stand! Still remember the stampede when they unlocked the gates. People falling over and getting trampled on, not nice to see. Anyway got our tickets, went down to Blackburn and lost 1-0 in the last minute!
  6. I've done the camping out all night thing (Blackburn away in the cup in 1993) and I'm past that stage now! I'll try to get one the modern way online and if I can't get one then that's my hard lines. I knew the risk when I gave my ticket up that if a takeover ever came about it would be difficult to get it back.
  7. Would agree with those numbers. Reckon there's probably 32/33k season ticket holders this season but tbh I could quite easily see 25k trying to get part season tickets should they go on sale. Literally every fan I know who hasn't currently got one is planning on getting one as soon as they can!
  8. Season tickets are capped at 44k. This allows for 3.2k away fans and 5k tickets for match by match sale. The 44k figure was least reached in 2017/18 and for that season they were unable to offer part season tickets for sale.
  9. Bought Brentford tickets a couple of weeks ago and got our Norwich tickets on Tuesday. Getting the use of a mates season ticket for Burnley. Noticed for the Norwich game there must be well over 10k seats available so season ticket sales must have been poor for this season. That won't be a problem for them anymore!
  10. Not even close to 6,300 mackems there. They only opened up the East Stand which only holds 7,000 and it's, at best 2/3rds full. Looks around 4,500 home fans present going of Simon Birds photo, and that's assuming the upper sections are far more populated than the lower sections.
  11. Never found him funny either but each to their own. It would be a boring place if everyone liked the same thing I suppose.
  12. Not sure. Nobody loves King Kev more than me but last time he came back in 2008 we went 9 games before we won. I'd love KK back in some capacity, just not as manager. In saying that, I think that simply getting rid of Bruce would see a massive bounce in form just by him not being there stinking the place out.
  13. Shambolic at the back. Need a manager in who can organise this lot.
  14. Suppose it'll mean more to some than others. I used to hate them but nowadays they aren't really relevant to me. Had a little giggle to myself earlier mind. Had a look on Bet365 earlier tonsee if there was anything worth betting on tonight and seen they've got to play Man Utd's Academy team in the Pizza Cup
  15. Cancelled the Athletic back in July when my first year's subscription had expired. Had loads of offers off them since then but haven't been tempted as I hardly read it when i had it.
  16. I get that. Traditionally they were our rivals although I remember a 10 year spell from about 1993-2003 when hardly anyone up here really gave them a 2nd thought. Then our decline started and they became a but more relevant again. We've been separated by 2 leagues for quite a while now and by the time we play them again at least a Decade will have passed since our last meeting which is always going to dilute things. They're hardly a rival if you never play them! I'm certainly more interested in the results of teams like Leeds, Burnley, Watford, Southampton etc than Sunderland. I couldn't even tell you how they are doing this season. I'd guess they're in the top 2, but it would only be that, a guess.
  17. Good question. After their next development taking capacity to 66k they'll have added 22k seats without having an affect on capacity.
  18. It's a daft cartoon so I won't get too worked up over it. I've never thought he was funny anyway so you'll not find 1 positive comment about him on here from me!
  19. Except FA Cup games which have seen crowds as low as 8k. I'll not have a pop at their pizza cup crowds as its a joke competition. I'm loving their new "moral high ground" mind. These people unanimously backed a paedophile because he scored against the mags just a few years ago.
  20. Just had a look on their forum for the first time in about 18 months and oh my God this takeover has completely destroyed them They are all in an absolute state of rage and the bitterness levels even by their standards has gone through the roof. You can actually feel it. Just 100% utter fewm! I know they aren't really going to be our rivals anymore, other than by fate of Geography as we move into a completely different stratosphere to them but for the time being I finally feel I can bask in their complete misery. They are now an established 3rd division club and the nearest team to them is the richest in World football. This will finish a lot of them off. Young kids running around in Sunderland stronghold areas in their black and white strips will be hilarious
  21. It's probably been answered but what happens to the circa £37k also sitting in their account through membership fees? Does it just sit there? Have they spent it?
  22. A big % of those who did generate that atmosphere v Cardiff, where Pardew couldn't even leave his dugout, simply don't go to the match anymore.
  23. Says a lot for Hendrick when Willock, with a broken toe, is still seen as a better bet.
