  1. Just under 44k. Looked about right as well. The entire Level 7 was sold out every game (family enclosure, singing corner and most away teams sold out their allocation as well). Only noticeable gaps tended to be right at the back of the Gallowgate and front of the Leazes. Hughton wasn't a particularly popular manager at the time, nor was he unpopular mind. More just a "Meh" sort of manager really. His popularity improved massively throughout the season and then into the next season before he was sacked. When you think he brought us back up, had us in a decent position in the league and was sacked yet Bruce has just been a complete s*** show yet his job seems safe it just defies all logic really. I remember numerous games where there were significant gaps. Maybe my mind is getting the better of me, but I recall some games that looked less than the advertised attendances. My point was the early attendances were lower than 40k, the attendances only increased as performances were good and we were doing well. Plus, as you say, Hughton’s popularity increased. A s*** start to a Championship season, under a disliked manager is likely to see the opposite and attendances fall from the starting figure of 37k. Aye the first game was just under 37k. Live on Sky and Reading brought next to no fans. Jumped up to just under 44k for the next game. As I say I thought the crowd figure looked about right back then, around 8,000 gaps on average. Far more accurate than the past few seasons figures anyway! Agree attendance will nose dive next season. The warning signs are there now. Having to give away 10k season tickets in the Premier League is unheard of. Could see crowds hovering around the low 30,000s next season. A lot of people who went purely out of habit could well give it up as well. I know of a few of these who now aren't arsed about going back.

  3. Agree with what a lot of people are saying now and that's that it's simply too late to change it now. The rot has well and truly set in, what's that 2 wins in 19 now? I honestly think that changing things now would end the same way as it did the last 2 times. The time to do it was after the Sheff Utd match. That was when it was clear beyond any doubt that we were a good bet for relegation if nothing changed. To make it clear I'm not saying stick with Bruce, I can't stand the bloke, never wanted him here and have wanted him gone ever since he set foot inside the place. I'm just saying whether he stays or goes I think the final outcome will be exactly the same.
  4. Shows how desperate things are getting when people are now desperate for Jacob Murphy to get a start!
  5. We beat some decent teams in the Intertoto Cup and of course qualified for the UEFA Cup through it. They beat 4th Division Tranmere Rovers to win the Pizza Cup and in doing so took the trophy off current holders, 4th Division Salford City. How they've got the nerve to mock our Intertoto win and yet celebrate their Papa John pizza Cup wildly I do not know. It is quite amusing though!
  6. Nobody seems to mention this lad anymore. I don't bother watching the games these days but was he in the dugout tonight or stuck up in the stand? Seemed to be loads of fanfare about him when he first arrived and after the Everton game but he barely gets a mention now. In fact I had to scroll down to the bottom of page 2 to find the topic about him!
  7. He hasn't. Bruce stays regardless.
  8. We have the worst owner in the league, the worst manager, and our best 3 players are injured. What's there to worry about? Seriously though agree with everything you've said. I can't now even bring myself to see his face on TV let alone listen to him talk with the shit and lies that come out of his fat ugly face and don't even get me started on that pathetic accent. Not a word I use lightly but I do actually hate the bloke. I despise him.
  9. Quinn was just average, not the worst we've had by any stretch Thought he was dreadful tbh. Painfully slow and constantly out of position. Wingers used to have a field day against him! Think he probably only managed about a dozen appearances in the 3 years he was here. Krafth has probably already managed that this season.
  10. People saying the near £6.5m settlement payment shown on Sheff Wed's accounts is what we paid them for Steve Bruce. Surely not?
  11. Been racking my brains thinking of worse full backs I've seen playing for Newcastle. I remember Mark Stimson being bad. Wayne Quinn is another who I don't remember fondly but this lad trumps both them for general shitness.
  12. Aye I've followed Aberdeen closely since I was about 5 years old and get up to Pittodrie a few times a season to watch them. Been on the decline for 3 seasons now and this season has been awful. 1 goal scored in the last 9 games! He's done well overall though and won a trophy. Nice touch the mutual agreement to leave. You don't see it all that often these days. No idea why they let cosgrove go. Was scoring for fun last season was he not? He'd gone off the boil as well and they were struggling to get him on the pitch as he was suffering from various injuries. Birmingham offered £2m which offset some of the loss that they were making due to COVID and no fans in the ground. I watched them draw 0-0 with Hamilton on Saturday in possibly the worst game of football I've ever seen in my life. Honestly it made WBA v NUFC look like a classic. You could tell in McInnes' postatch interview that he knew his time was up.

  14. Derek McInnes leaves Aberdeen after 9 years in charge. They've had a poor season and are in a terrible run of form. He's left by mutual consent. Wish Bruce would do that instead of waiting for his pay off.
  15. That's my line of thinking as well. Surely if the deal was close to being done or even if they were just very confident of it getting done, the buyers would be doing all they can to protect their future investment. To me that would mean them telling Ashley to chuck Bruce out and to add his compensation package onto the price at the end.
  16. Bruce is never going to forgive him for scoring the winner against his beloved Man Utd is he?
  17. If you listen to the gallowgate shots podcast, the female lawyer (Shell) gives a different interpretation as to why it was done. There is 2 lawyers, neither involved, neither really knowing what’s happening giving two different views. Best to wait for the official lines not opinions. Tbf Shell doesn't really know anything. She is a newly qualified solicitor and has zero experience in this field of law as she's never practised in it. Before last August she was telling everyone there was no way this takeover could fail (and in her own words explained why) then it did fail and she's now spent the last 6 months telling everyone why it won't come off. She's built a big social media following off the back of it I'll give her that. My wife has been a solicitor for almost 20 years and practises in similar fields of law to Shell and would be first to admit she wouldn't have a clue how this might play out. I agree what I’m trying to say is neither know what’s going on as they’re not involved. Yeah that's pretty much it. My point was directed more at her pre August when she was adamant she knew exactly what was going to happen just because she's a solicitor when in reality she had no more of an idea than you or I. She was wrong back then and now she's totally changed her narrative. She's gained around 15k followers on Twitter though so I'm sure she's not too bothered!

  19. You know this will happen. He'll say there's nothing wrong with a bit passion and that Ritchie's not happy with not being in the team. The carefully selected press people who are actually allowed into his press conferences won't challenge him any further on it.
  20. Agreed. Never been afraid to call Bruce out either. Their row last year over his bust up with ASM was brilliant!
  21. This patter is almost as tragic as ‘Mag’ on RTG. If you want to read blind optimism, I’m reliably informed there is a thread for that. Only registered on here 5 weeks ago. Already familiar with RTG. Hmm seems a bit strange like. Is it illegal to read the forum before joining? I’ve read the forum on and off for years, probably going back to the early days of Pardew. Some times I’ve read it almost daily, other times I’ve not looked at it in 6 months. I chose to sign up primarily to vent at the situation with Bruce. I also read RTG frequently and have done prior to signing up. I also look on a Man Utd forum infrequently, Derby County and Liverpool. I have an account on one of them, and might join up on another. Hopefully that won’t cause you any distress No skin off my nose pal. Just seems a bit of a strange time to be attracting all these new users. In the middle of a huge slump, looking a good bet for relegation, everyone sick of Bruce, the takeover etc and these new posters all sign up to add their negativity to the fire. If I've got it wrong then my apologies but I don't think I have.
