Strangely there was only 2 farts today, of which the lads who were with Farty Pants alerted me of before the smell hit us in the row behind, and with a good spray of the girliest body spray I could find in Wilkinson's this morning we didn't have to suffer. Yay! The spray will be going with me to the Barnsley game. I thought someone had literally taken a shit in the stand today! Was that you spraying the smelly stuff? All I can say is cheers! It wafted back lovely!

The back of block D in the Leazes Corner attempts to get new songs going and the older ones. It's rare for the whole corner to join in, but it's good to see them two seem to have caught on. Just keep on trying. They will catch on. The lads behind me near the front of block D were trying to get "Don't want to go home" going when the 3rd goal went in. Just have to keep trying and they will catch on. we must sit/stand near t'other. Same here. All tongue in cheek. And for as many times as we have sang "Your support is fucking shit" there have been fans of the away team singing similar, if not the same chants to us up there. Malandro, no-one really thinks they are better than anyone else here (well apart from Ronaldo but hey ). Your views on the people in the LC are as warped as you seem to think our pisstaking of the East stand is. Sure we say "Aye the old codgers don't bother singing in the East Stand" but I can't think of anyone I know from the LC that would say he/she is a better fan than anyone else. This to a tee My one and only gripe is why wont members of the ES stand up during "stand up if you love the Toon"? Still havn't received a satisfactory answer after many, many years. For that reason I shall continue to actively "berate" The East Stand

I would say on the contrary. I would consider The East Stand to have the attitude problem. (my evidence is based on the majority) Why do they feel they need not to join in with the rest of the Ground when we "stand up if we love the Toon"? loads of people stand up when singing stand up if you love the toon Why do they feel they need not to wave their free Black and white flags as a sign of defiance, commanded to by none other than Sir Alan of Shearer, live on TV as the teams emerge into the arena of a relegation 6 pointer? yes we did, alot of the east stand were waving flags, i was there waving my flag too Why do patrons feel they need to tell you to "sit down" if you happen to still be on your feet more than 4 seconds after KO? no idea what you mean here Why does the place still smell of piss after nearly 40 years childish dig or due to neither current or previous chairman have invested in redecorating inside as it is desperatly outdated. Why do patrons take a novel to read at half time? majority go inside at h/t its a small stand and usually difficult to move around Why is there little animation towards a player/referee from patrons close to a controversial touchline incident? People get chucked out of the Gallowgate for such protests? people who get annoyed, stand up, swear & shout towards players & referees, maybe the stewards are more lenient in the East Stand due to there never being much bother cause its not full of chav kids And most importantly of all...why is there very little atmosphere at all in a compact stand with 6000 people in it? ive sat there since i was 5, im now 22 & id say there is an atmosphere in the East Stand but due to it being the smallest stand its normally deafened by the rest of the ground Now, it cant be down to the fact that members of the East Stand dont love the toon as much as the other stands! But if your manager tells you to wave a flag on the brink of relegation in a 6 point local Derby and it is too much trouble...then they should think about handing over their tickets to the youth and let them get behind the team. Then East Standians can "support" the team just as "passionately" sitting at home with their Tartan Blankets, Cherry Bakewells, Slippers and Pipes listening to the Wireless! I was in the Leazes for the Boro game and there were plenty of flags being waved in the ES, and despite bring quieter than other parts of the ground the ES does contribute to the atmosphere. The 6000 in the ES also contribute about 4 times as much money to the clubs coffers as the LC does, if they all stayed at home the club would have to quadruple the cost of a ticket in the LC to claw back the lost revenue.... how would you fancy paying £1000+ for a ST in the LC? Do you know what's more embarrassing? The deafening silence from 90% of the stadium for most of the games. I like it when we're winning 5-0 and a rendition of "stand up if you love the Toon" goes round....and being in L7 (already standing) you see the lower leazes start to get on their feet...a few moments later the gallowgate and the other corners get up....followed by the milburn stand... and everyone looks over as a collective whole to the East Stand who are still sat down like a big bunch of :duff: s I wonder what it will take for them to show any sort of emotion at a game?

Im no expert...but Confidence is high, all players appear to be on form. Off the back of a good win, an easy win against a fellow promotion candidate, Derby at the wrong end of the table and hardly prolific in front of goal? So all in all....Hughton will go "all guns blazing" with an ultra defensive 4-5-1 line up! Maybe just maybe...if Derby go down to 9 men after 10mins. Chrissy H will wait till 5mins to go and he may stick another striker on and go 4-4-2!

A good long song is needed against feisty opposition fans like Cardiff. Because if they cant get a word in...or realise we're not listening/cant hear them...its very demoralising for them! After about 10mins of the non stop "We dont care song"...they were looking over at us with very ??? looks on their faces! Wor lot just kept singing for about another 10 mins! twas great!

At one time it was a surprise to hear of a "big" club (opposed to a conference side etc) going into administration. Now it seems run of the mill stuff. Sad really.
