That doesn't even make sense. It's difficult to create velocity if a team has core members changed mid-sprint or even mid project. What's difficult to understand? A lot. I quite like you and think the shit you get here is a little unnecessary but you don't half word things that open you up to being called a textbook bellend.

Obviously tongue in cheek but there'll be loads now who'll have that opinion for real, not being able to grasp that 8 years of chronic under investment has forced his hand and he'll now be sh*tting himself over the possibility of missing out on next seasons TV bonanza. Unfortunately for him, even if we do sign a striker, the manager he appointed to get the results needed clearly isn't capable of doing so. While I'm sure he is very worried about relegation, we spent £50m+ in the summer too when he could have sat back and seen how things went. I don't think we're spending because of the threat of relegation, I think we always planned to spend the money the club has generated, as we have in all the previous seasons where we didn't sell anyone at £20m+ profit. I think the players we're buying are a more telling change in policy in that we're buying Premier league experience I don't think we would have done if we were higher up the table. A bit of a case when your wages are shit so you get the groceries at lidl n Aldi, then after you get yourself sorted and a pay rise/bonus you can start shopping at morrisons again Preach.

Not against him as a signing. It's just as always mediocre given the haggling and you just know how reluctant we've been to pay it. The whole month is a panic buy.

Oh and given the nature of Ashley's tenure why should the opinion on this board or any other be negative. It's the calls for groundless positivity I find weird. Both Ashley and Levy have played a blinder Levy has sold a name for £12m. Ashley has bought a name to sell to fans ("English, PL experience etc"), got an extra body to justify a disposal of a more valuable asset (probably Sissoko/Gini in the summer), and potentially has a 24 year old English player for resale, bought at his monetary nadir. I really think you overestimate how much we do for PR reasons. g Ian, almost every decision/wording they come out with is to keep the fans at arms length. I'm looking at fb forums now and on the basis of shelvey and Townsend people are piping up with the he's changed angle. It's fickle and depressing.

Who you on about?, Sissoko? Don't think we'd get that much more for him right now than we're paying for Townsend and likely Mclaren will want Townsend at left wing while Sissoko is right wing. Think he's being signed with a mind to Sissoko leaving in summer as a replacement.

Townsend is a means to offloading one of our better midfielders. Think we'll try to ship De Jong too.
