As ever the happy path is a delicate balance between the two. Those in close support or as part of NCSL need to be clear in tone and aim if they want to be seen to represent the fan base and in turn the majority of fans back them and also be able to filter constructive criticism from the slanging. Likewise, if its an effort or some selling side form of 4D chess to keep things going all power to them - it certainly makes a lot of noise. The problem with noise, especially on twitter is that there’s a lot of it about and people develop a filter for it.

I find the reference to the jarrow cause during a pandemic a bit distasteful and tone deaf of the current situation. That’s not just bitching.

Cognitive dissonance at the futility of the situation making stats and truths more palletable. Compare what you like - Rafa when he left was in ascendency in terms of his project and although he’s faltered in China, he’s done it time and again elsewhere. We’ve reached the Bruce plateau. There is nowhere to go beyond this cycle of okay/iffy winning performances and hammerings. Ashley 17th + dreamland and it’s the source of my utter ambivalence.
