Whatever you believe in terms of dressing room politics and striking focal points; there is something that stinks about the way this lad is being utilised and Pardew has to take flak for that. I find it hard to believe that there is no way both these top class strikers are incapable of both scoring goals when played in the same side.

Shola is a brilliant, bullying impact sub. Trouble is he'll probably start next week because of the goal and he'll get shot with shit for not being able to last 60 minutes.

Thing is Ba got goals when he was out wide, with Cisse getting loads as well. More players scoring = more goals = more success from attacking play. I do believe Ba is an ego and AP's handling of it is weak. We looked fat more of a threat with those in the positions they were last season. Either that or Cisse can only go Super Saiyan from Januarys onwards.

The worry is, if he believes half of what he says then that is bbound to translate into tactics and performances. If this is the case then the guy has no chance.

The pendulum has swung completely in the other direction from the shepherd era and it's almost becoming equally as harmful to progress.

Far to early to say whether hughton is vastly superior or not. Fact of the matter is we're doing far worse than should be under Pardew; though all this ultimately highlights is the completely shambolic approach our owners have to running every aspect of this club, respect for the clubs fans, heritage, progress and ambition. 5th may have been flattering and there are those who will no doubt accuse us of 'expectation', however we cannot and will never progress under this regime. I'm certain of that now. Whatever my opinion of Pardew tactically, the way he was brought in and the lack of investment since are abysmal and his hands are tied to a degree. If he has the ball at his feet, do one of 4 things without fail a) blast it forward b) pass backwards if possible c) blast it forward through an opposition player pressuring him d) attempt a cross if anywhere beyond halfway. He has to get rid using of those and it completely negates the attack. It was a good effort by his limited standards but as with Willo, they get shown up at this level. Get some ambition ffs.
