The only contibutions he makes are when you are on the back foot. It's helpful now and then but overall not good enough for a side that screams for pass and move.
They have suarez and sterling and then the rest are distinctly average imo. I felt we defended brilliantly for the most part and for all their bluster they lacked that killer instinct. Really ccould have done with alll three points mind, however unrealistic/hopeful.
80th minute at 3 all. Zeus and Poseidon, the brothers of destruction raise from the bench as a bell tolls. Sammy gets a flick on from a divine 6 million dollar man salmon leap from Shola and scores in the 86th with a 30 yard backheel. 4-3...Believe.
Well each game will bring its own merits in terms of decisions to be made; I'm not going to question the incident named above because you are probably right. In that instance. I'm just going along with the opinion that is held that as a goalkeeper its always better to get yourself in a position where you're most likely to stop a shot whilst retaining posession and not falling foul of the second ball. Kind of like when keepers do two hand punches when they could try to just hold it. That's like your example but in reverse.
Would have him back, all my other reservations aside. Would add to the pass and move of the squad and I never saw many wingers get 100% the better of him. Like someone said though, this is highly unlikely and probably a good thing stability wise.
Aye but compare where they finished in those seasons compared to last year/ whee they are now. It's not a good indicator thinking positively. However, I'm a staunch pessimist and expect them to fully have our pants down by half time.
I'm not convinced we're seeing him change because he's lost a yard or whatever. He looks completely different to the kind of player he ever was. He showed in a fleeting glimpse on Sunday that the pace was still there in some capacity. I find it tremendously odd. He may well have peaked in the last couple of seasons or it may be down to coaching. Just can't put a finger on it; it's weird.
