Frankly Perch is vastly superior both offensively and defensively. IMO when I have seen him play this season and last; he has more or less slotted into the positions he has been told to adopt with confidence and ability. Simpson has neither of these things with a ball at his feet. Perch is a decent premier league player. Simpson is very mediocre. He would tear up trees at full back; but has more of the pace, guile and intelligence needed to wo there effectively.
Signed a new contract three weeks ago. Anyway, players don't take notice of ambition etc apparently.
Good job too. Signing contracts also counts for little with certain players. Can't think it bodes well of they finish outside where their lot expect/desire
I've got no problem with his crosses really. They lack some finesse but balls we're being put in dangerous areas. I think if we had more legs in midfield then you would have found Ba getting onto some of those.
He beat his man numerous times, won a load of corners, nearly scored himself, whipped at least 4 or 5 balls into the six yard box. FFS man, some people.
Aye. He caused no end of problems.
The bit in the corner near the end when he was literally sweating at the thought of more than 2 touches and some trademark backing off. Fuming that we've not gone all out to improve.
Could have stayed on his feet imo.
6 and 2 3's. If you can avoid sending a man off I'd take it though you could argue it was a blatant goal scoring opportunity. Meh. Not that controversial despite things.
