I've got my season ticket. First time ever. Really excited. All ready to drive up early doors tomorrow. She said I can still go, but I can't really as that would make me a total and utter cunt.

Got mine on Saturday. The badge really is crap. Doesn't even have NUFC or owt written on it.

Prepared to give the lad a chance. He must have had something about him to attract Man Utd in the first place so hopefully it's just a lack of football which has made him play poorly when given the chance to play. People are so quick to say how shit somebody is on here though, At least it's a body in, which is after all what a lot of people are complaining about. Jose and Barton haven't left yet so it's an addition to the squad. Agreed we still need a first choice front man and cover all across the back four, that will either happen or it won't and no amount of whinging on here is going to change it. I won't believe he isn't coming back till he deletes his account. Until then it's just a trial separation.

It's not a traditional way of looking at a squad over here, but if you follow american sports then you'll have seen it at one time or another. Although I don't see how it is hard to understand how it works. If you can grasp the concept of players having the ability to play multiple positions, and understand that you need 11 different players to make up a team then you kind of have the basics licked. Well done.

Was this what Jose was talking about. Had he been given assurances that Smith was staying as he was a key part of the pep-squad but now it appears the whole tour to america was an elaborate hoax to try and offload him to some unsuspecting bunch of Yanks on the premise he once played for Man Utd and England. I was on my way to work this morning, listening to xfm, and the sports guy said the words "Fabricio Coloccini". My heart stopped. In the space of half a second I imagined that he had spoken out against the board, or demanded a transfer, or had been injured and would miss the whole season. I started to sweat, I mean why would xfm - a music station in London with no interest in the goings on at NUFC - be talking about Colo. Turns out he was just talking about his mate Tevez being home sick, and saying how hard it must be for him with his family still in Argentina. Panic over. But for a moment I was properly bricking it.

I wouldn't want the american system in football and doubt it would work, but it does work over there and as a fan of most US Sports I like it and see the benefits of it for them. It has it's drawbacks though and it's not perfect. The lack of relegation means owners know they will always have a big league product to sell so can always get the TV money regardless of how bad they are. I do, however, find the arguments being put forward in this thread about lack of parity, clubs being poor for eternity, lack of competition at the top level, clubs aiming for fourth or fifth best and so on a little blinkered. You could easily lay all those accusations at the Premier League and most of the other top leagues in Europe It's shows a real lack of knowledge of US Sports, which is mainly covered by standard excuses of 'not interested' or 'too boring' when in reality it is just that you don't understand them, which is nobody else's fault but your* own. *general 'your' not specifically attributed to anyone.

Always rated him and sorry to see how his career has turned out. A genuine waste of an excellent player. A bit like Dean Ashton in that respect.

In other news, I got receipts for 2 of my 3 season tickets today. Not sure where the other one is.

Kev's alright, he can come accross a bit of a gobshite but really he's a good bloke. I've watched a few games close by him and not seen him do anything other than give his all to support the team. Sometimes that can boil over in to a bit of a sweary rant but I think most of us can do that sometimes. I doubt he's ever told another fan to sing up or fuck off, although I'm sure we have those sort of morons knocking about in the stadium somewhere.

you'll have to fill out another direct debit form and provide proof of the childs age. to get this far has taken 1 application, 3 visits to the box office and 3 phone calls. they haven't got a f***ing clue. I've got, and filled out all three forms now. I've sent in proof of age for both and it's all been posted off. I can now but wait and see if they get it right. Apparently I'm in seats 219,220,221 of Row Q in block L7H. I can't pop to the box office unfortunately so I'll have to trust that they don't bodge it up. hey you're within pie throwing distance of me. When I was a kid I had a recurring dream that baby-faced England international Nigel Clough was my best friend at school and we had some cracking adventures, normally involving having to play football to get out of some tricky situation. Not quite sure what that says about my mental state when I was 10 mind. Troubled.

Got my DD forms in the post this morning. Does anyone know if you can have more than one junior ticket with an adult in the family stand. Considering getting a second one if I can. For £100 I can't really justify not doing it - especially as I have so many sprogs.

Have they said when the TV fixtures will be announced. Need to start organising trains and the like for the first few games.

Well I have finally sorted my tickets. One adult and one junior in one of the NW corner blocks. Row L. Without being able to buy online I couldn't really argue as I didn't know where the seats were available. Plus the bint on the phone could not have been less interested if she tried. Still, done now. Just need to return the form when it arrives.

I never had to pay a membership fee for mine like. I already had a season ticket and just asked to change it so that the bairn got the seat next to me. I was in the 3 year deal at the time and they just adjusted my DD downwards but made me pay the £100 up front for her. Subsequently we both now pay by DD but have never paid a memebership fee. You get the membership with the season ticket. My beef was that I couldn't buy his during the members only period as he wasn't a member even though I was buying it for him and I am a member. Shockingly, I can't get through to the box office due to high volume of calls. Won't be happy if I don't get it sorted today.

Couldn't get my ST today. They wouldn't let me buy my junior ticket as my son isn't a member, so he has to wait till Friday when it goes to GS. I asked how much junior membership was, £5 replies the bint in the box office, I'll pay it now I said. No. Can't. Have to wait till Friday.

Ah, take the bairns option. I'm going to. It makes the train cheaper anyway and means I will get to spend time with my kids on a one to one basis every now and then. Hopefully it will also entice them to support NUFC. Well I'm dreaming about the last part anyway. Will more than likely miss a couple due to work and family but if I get to at say, 13-15 games then it's worth it.

So I've pretty much decided to go ahead and get my season ticket tomorrow. Only decision left is if I go for the Family Stand, and lumber myself with one of my offspring for most of the games (but this may assist me in getting my user name changed to Most of My Kids Support Chelsea but some like the Toon a bit), or be selfish and buy one in the Gallowgate - the second would require some blatant lying to the wife as the agreement was for me to take a kid with me every week. Decisions Decisions. It is going to be a restless night.

In further developments, I can only use the adult season ticket in the family stand 3 times without having a child with me. This could be an issue.
