Man Utd and Arsenal clear favourites still, but a nice home draw against a lower league team would be nice next round. Brentford away please. I'll meet all the NUFC fans in my local.

Chelsea v Newcastle United - Wed 22nd September -7:45pm - League Cup 3rd Rd
MKSC replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
Would we beat that Chelsea line-up even if we did play Barton, Carroll, Ben Arfa, Enrique and Williamson? Probably not so, for once, I agree with the slight weakening of the team. If we were playing a winnable game I would want us to field a stronger side. -
Tickets for the Wigan game are now on sale. Are we going to try and get seats in the same area for the non ST holders? Also, is there anyone else wanting to put there names down for the game??

Had a cracking day yesterday. A good solid performance from a patched up NOFC in the morning, despite losing 1-0, and an unexpected away win from NUFC in the afternoon. I thought the key to Everton being so poor was the way we stopped Arteta playing. Every time he got the ball he was either closed down very quickly or crunched. You could see by the end he just wanted to get off the pitch as he was misplacing many passes. Titoe was excellent, MOM in my opinion. Other than Perch I thought everyone played well though, he's just not up to this level. The screeching girl next to me didn't rate Routledge either as she went into dog-whistle frequency every time the ball went near him, but I thought he did ok and gives us something on the break, he's not top class but he's quick and normally available when we are looking to attack. I said on leaving the stadium that if the Nolan penalty incident wasn't a penalty it was the best tackle I've ever seen. Having reviewed the video evidence it was the clearest penalty I've seen in years. How on earth the ref thought it was a clean tackle is beyond comprehension. Great support from the travelling fans. Not a lot of competition from the home support who were very quiet. Although it does seem that a percentage of our support are more interested in having a go at the home fans than watching the game. I don't understand that. I mean, I do get it when we score or when they miss a sitter or getting all riled up when there is a foul or a bad decision. But just randomly, in the middle of play, and there is little or nothing in the way of banter or abuse coming back the other way? A few of the guys around me spent pretty much the whole game looking at the home fans rather than the pitch. Next time they should just ask for a ticket in the CCTV room. EDIT: And as for the gas chamber they call the toilet/refreshment area for away fans, disgusting. It's just not big enough, I don't know if anybody was hurt but there could have been serious problems down there. All it takes is a couple of idiots (and let's face it, we have some of them) and some over-zealous coppers/stewards (and we know there are always some of them about) and it could have turned into a serious serious crush. I was pressed against the barrier coming down from the stands and was close to being pushed back over it onto the concrete floor on the other side. They need a new modern stadium soon as what they have is just terrible.

A couple of young Chelsea fans I know have posted the you tube clip of it. The comments were along the lines of "loooooool valencia got his leg snapped like a twig" and other nonsense of that ilk. Some people really can be complete and utter cunts. I remember going to a game between my local side Hampton & Richmond at our rivals AFC Wimbledon. Our left back got his leg broken in a 50-50 and the reaction of the womble fans, saying our lad deserved it because he went in to 'do' their lad, nearly caused a riot to break out. I don't care if you can't stand the oppo or the player but nobody wants to see people suffer really bad injuries. I've played in games where people have suffered breaks, and it aint pretty. This post combined with his username leads me to believe that MKSC just called his kids cunts. I've called them many things over the years but I've not quite gone that far. Sadly my Facebook is cluttered up by countless Chelsea morons, And it was they who I was referring to.

I didn't. But you are the man in the know for pretty much anything forum football related, and it's been a few days since Greggy posted in this or an NOFC thread.
-
Why would I be? Greg is organising, non? I did ask both of you (see below). On another note, how are we going to organise everyone without a season ticket sitting together? Is one person gonna book them or will we just designate a block/row and try and get everyone close together?
-
The OP hasn't been updated for a few weeks. Stu/Greg, what's the latest figures team wise? Nut, I presume your mate will don a red top (or whatever colour you lot are going to wear)??
-
Same for me, ticket and digs need sorting. I'm flying in though, like the superstar that I am.
-
Then you only needed to shift the words around. Dan's Red Retard team Retard Dan's Red team.

Sneaky little edit there Chris?

You're a dirty Red scummer Hez, and that you shall stay. There is no changing sides once you've been allocated. Vive les bleus.

Kevin Blackwell was live on goals on sunday, he was trying to say how fans don't know what is going on and they just slate the manager without understanding reasons for a team selection. In trying to do this he used an example of a player coming to him an hour before a game saying he couldn't play as he had a situation at home which involved one of his kids doing something in the bath - we're not sure what this was - and being asked by the player/player's wife "where did you see that/learn to do that/have that done to you?" and being told that that Grandad said it's "our little sceret". I'm not sure if anything else has happened about it but that is the gist of the story.

Ooooh. Students. Lovely. Just under six weeks to go. Time to get the recruitment drive going again. Bring out the blues. Blue team please confirm you will be playing, we don't want to let the reds think they have a chance of winning do we.

I'm just about to book my travel for this almighty weekend. Got some Airmiles to use up so I'll be flying in to Newcastle on the Friday night, I'll be expecting a welcoming committee btw, and flying out after the NOFC game on Sunday morning. Just wanted to make sure somebody (or two different people) can put me up for two nights? I'm clean, polite and fully house trained.

Blackpool are nailed on. They just won't be able to pick up points all season. Don't think they'll break the Derby record but they'll get maybe 20 at most, gone by early March. West Ham look a shambles, it will take real real real miracle type stuff for them not to be relegated, gone by early April. Toss up for the last spot. A week ago I would have stuck Wigan in the coffin and hammered the nails down. But I think they may improve now. I'm not convinced West Brom will have improved much on the last few seasons and will be there or there abouts. One of those two for me. If I had to put something on it now I'd go Blackpool, WHAM and WBROM. Wigan just about surviving, again. Sunderland, Brum, Stoke, Blackburn, Fulham, Bolton, Wolves and Ourselves are probably just a step ahead of these four teams and it would take some severe bad luck with injuries or maybe some off field upheavel for any of these to get sucked in to the drop zone.

I'll be boring, Yes I'll take it, but I hope and believe we are better than that. Have been saying all summer I think we could finish as high as 9th, mainly because the standard of opposition is not that great. Outside the top 7 or 8 this is a very average league. Right now I'll be happy with staying up and not seeing any more fuck ups from the men upstairs being reported in the press.
-
Obviously CH will play a weakened side, but it can't be quite as weakened as the one that played at Accrington, as even against a weaker Chelsea side they'll get the sort of pasting that could be very bad for their confidence. We've got to go in with at least a half strong side, so I guess there will be three or four first choice players and then backups as opposed to the younguns.
-
I'll make them sit in the away end, that should keep them quiet. I doubt it will sell out what with it being 300 miles away, in midweek, no doubt over priced, a guaranteed loss and CH will play a weakened side.

Oi, who let you out of my pocket. Get back in!! Colin, for an idiot you're incredibly quick witted. You sat in a trolley with nowhere to go except in to some steps. Who's the idiot?

Wonder what the ticket prices will be. I'd like to take my boys along to this as they are Chelsea fans, but I bet it'll be too expensive!

 Of that, there aint no doubt.
