Now less than 2 weeks till kick off in the biggest game of the summer. Bring it on. Blue, Blue, we love you.

Khedira. He's been excellent all tournament IMO.

I am sick to the back teeth about hearing how fucking great rugby is and how football should follow it's examples. People DO cheat in rugby. They gouge eyes, stamp on heads, do illegal high and dump tackles, illegal cross over runs, fight with each other and many other things. The only thing Rugby does well (in most situations, not all) is punish people who transgress severely. It doesn't mean the players are any less cynical when trying to gain the upper hand on their opponents.

any ? there are thousands of occasions every week when they don't. there are thousands of occasions every week where somebody finds themselves on the goal line in the last minute of a world cup quarter final with a chance to prevent elimination, if only for a few seconds?? Wow.
-
He took one for the team and it paid off. If he had time to decide to do that then it's a little naughty but the fact is any professional footballer would do the same. By stopping the ball with his hands he changed the situation from 100% guaranteed elimination to a slightly better chance, but by no means certain. Ghana were given a penalty as required by the laws of the game. They missed it, tough shit. And then they took two atrocious penners in the shoot out. Nobody to blame but themselves. He got sent off and will miss a World Cup Semi-Final for his troubles. FWIW, I have cheated at football plenty of times. Every time I appeal for a corner or throw when I know it came off me. I've given players kicks and digs, held them at corners, blocked them off and blatantly taken them out when they are through. It's how the game is played. You push the rules and it's up to the ref to spot it and punish you accordingly. Some people might not like it but the majority of people who play the game will do something sneaky, underhand or snidey at some point.

Not Smith. I don't mind Nolan, he's an experienced captain at PL level and if he shifts a bit of timber in pre-season I can't see why he wouldn't be efective in the right system. If not him then Colo or Jose. Leading by example.

Maidenhead Utd for the same reason, also they're called the Magpies. And I used to live there for a bit. Another shite club. Although we do visit the strip bar in town every time Hampton are playing there. Makes it feel like being in Newcastle.

Spencer Austin. I followed the whole thing as it happened on his ITV blog and facebook page. He spent quite a while in Brentford and a few of the locals have become good friends with him. The whole experiment didn't really work as he had originally hoped as he thought he'd end up at a team in the upper echelons winning trophies etc, but he got stuck bouncing around league 2. In the end he said he wouldn't have changed it though as he met loads of interesting people.

Don't. Horrible Horrible Club. Can't be any worse than Luton. No, but then not many are.

Yeah, Histon are in the BSP aswell, but they've really overachieved and could drop like a stone at any point. Thay are basically a village team with an average attendance of around 800 which is too low to support National level football without serious external investment. If they run out of money they'll plummet. As previously mentioned on this forum I also follow my local non-league side Hampton & Richmond Borough, although not so much these days. I only saw 5 or 6 games last season in total.
-
Cambridge City are also in the area and I'dcertainly recommend Histon or City over United. You'll get a much better non-league experience at them as opposed to the billy big bollocks attitude the fans have down at the R Costings Abbey Stadium.

Wow, aren't you just a walking talking stereotype super doopa hero of a fan. I wish I could be more like you. I know I am not a born and bred Geordie so my opinion doesn't count to you, but even if I was born in and lived in Newcastle I'd still want England to win the world cup, it wouldn't take anything away from how I feel about NUFC.

Makes a change. Surely if things get too bad they can just send the acadamy lads out on the rob. [tabloidpressregionalstereotype/]

For you Red lot there is a nice Treviso shirt on there for £7.99. Bargain. I'm actually contemplating wearing a Chelsea shirt. To quote Alanis Morrisette, isn't it ironic.
-
Thank fuck I don't have a credit card. I would max it out on that site very quickly.
-
Yeah, I did a search for XXL shirts up to £15 and there were loads. Shame I'm only currently looking for a blue one as there weren't loads to chose from. Tossing up between 98/99 Schalke, 05/06 Hertha Berlin and 09/10 MV Maastricht. But in future I may well be on here rather than ebay for my monthly purchase. And the delivery costs seem reasonable.

Why haven't I seen that website before?? I can see my bank account emptying very soon.

What am I expected to be like...I'm curious... Nowhere near as interesting as Madras. Sorry. But I'm sure you're lovely.
-
The best thing for me about these games is getting to put see the differences between the real people and the forum persona you imagine. I've got Madras down as a middle aged bespectacled professor/librarian, Knowledgeable and kindly to those who know him, almost a father figure if you will, but with an almost pathalogical hatred for those without his passion for learning, the truth, and moral values. I kind of don't want him to turn up as it may ruin the man I've built him up to be.

Think we were going for 11.30 KO iirc.

I'm getting a Brazilian! fyp.

You reckon he's more of a Dani Alves type? I reckon he's more of a http://www.internetspor.com/data/gallery/1237458794-5.jpg That's Gilberto da Silva Melo if you've forgotten who he is.
