Comments (0) Add to My Stories Share Who is your sporting hero? Edwin van der Sar, all day. I have followed him since I was young. It was a dream and privilege to play against him and it was great to get 0-0 and shake his hand. I got the shirt and gloves boxed at home. What would you be if you weren't a sportsman? I was not the best at school and always had a feeling for being a sportsman. If I could choose now it would be a pilot. Which other sportsman would you like to be? In a way I am fulfilling that as Holland goalkeeper following Van der Sar. Career highlight? Playing for my country in the summer getting a 0-0 against Brazil on my debut. ... and the worst moment? Four days after my debut for Newcastle, in Palermo aged 18, I injured my knee in the warm-up before a cup game at Watford. I needed two operations. If your house was burning down, what one possession would you save? Does a cat count? Thomas the big ginger, he looks a bit like Garfield. What's the best advice you've ever been given? After my debut Steve Harper and Shay Given told me to be patient. They were important as they have been through it. Favourite karaoke song? I can't sing and wouldn't want to (but see later). Three most-listened to songs on your ipod? Anything by Neo, Danza Kuduro by Don Omar and Chris Brown's Pot of Gold. Last film you saw? The Inbetweeners Movie at the cinema in Newcastle, a class film, the dance is the best bit. Last book you read? I have been reading the autobiography of Andre Agassi (right) for a while and I haven't finished it yet. I'm not a great reader. I'm more into TV series like An Idiot Abroad. Favourite pre-match meal? Breakfast of scrambled egg on toast and then spaghetti and chicken for lunch. Can you cook? Best dish? I have a girlfriend, Claire, to do that for me. I am not the best but it is laziness. Your favourite holiday destination? Barbados and Dubai. In a film of your life, who would YOU like to play you? Brad Pitt, of course. What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought? A car for my parents, a Nissan Tourec. Tell us a secret... In my first year at Newcastle, the young players had an X-Factor with Alan Shearer, Harper and Given as jury. I could hardly speak a word of English but mumbled through a Lamar song. The loser had to drink a horrible milkshake. I avoided it because they had sympathy with my language barrier. Newcastle press officer Wendy Taylor is walking The Mount Blanc Massif for The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. Facebook dumpee Michael Chopra or would-be closet racist Sam Deering can both vouch for the dangers posed by the social networking site. But there was nothing either of them could do to help Manchester United fan Stuart Slann who fell victim to a Facebook prank as hilarious as it was heartless, and as superb as it was psychotic! Stuart had been on holiday to Mexico last November. Staying in the same resort were two Liverpool fans. Friendly banter was initially exchanged, but the Scousers soon grew tired of Stuart’s endless boasting about United. The Liverpool fans also claim that Stuart was generally being a bit of a nuisance and that one man took a swing at him over a comment made to his wife. One night the Scousers decided enough was enough and demanded that Stuart sing them a few Liverpool anthems. When Stuart refused, the drunken duo (both professional Cage Fighters, by the way) decided to throw their Manc adversary into the pool but in the words of one of them: “we threw him in the shallow end by mistake I thought ‘Shit we’ve killed him’ because he just lay there motionless”. As it turned out they had just done some damage to his ankle. You would think a possibly broken ankle could be considered revenge for a bit of mouthy Manc attitude, but this pair had other ideas. On their return to the UK they created a fake Facebook (or a Fakebook if you prefer) in the name of “Emma” and tracked down Stuart. In their own words, they “groomed” him for six weeks, starting with a bit of chit-chat and then in “the last two weeks I made him fall in love with me”. On 31 January it was time for Stuart and Emma to meet-up for a bit of romance. Unfortunately for Sheffield-based Stuart it was a 10-hour drive to Emma’s fictional home north of Aberdeen, but it would be worth it surely? The Scousers got a female friend to adopt a Scottish accent and reassure Stuart before he set off and explain that she would be in work until he arrived so she would only be able to text him. During the journey, Emma text Stuart complaining of boredom at work and requesting some saucy photos. He duly complied by sending a short video of himself sucking on a pink vibrator. The vibrator had apparently been the subject of much humour to the Scousers during the holiday since Stuart had taken it to Mexico despite travelling alone. After eventually arriving in Aberdeen and waiting patiently at the deserted farm she where she supposedly lived, Stuart rang Emma to see where she was. He was greeted at the other end of the phone by his two holiday chums. Stuart was not best pleased and (one for the irony spotters) took solace in his Facebook updates! Unsurprisingly, his wife was not impressed either and has now left him. This video below combines the telephone conversation with “Emma” and Stuart’s saucy snaps.

There are rumours that Tevez' contract has been terminated. No idea on how true that is.

Always noticed Sevilla fans when ever they have been on tele.
-
Well, tbh, similar things are said about us but its absolutely laughable how anyone from these shores can even be considered as the best fans in the world.

Ginola realy seems to rate HBA. Keeps mentioning how good he is when asked about us.

Could some one please post the link of Wearside offering some one out please. Can't believe i missed it.

How amny appearences has Messi made this season ?

I love that after the career he has had playing with the likes of Maradonna he still wants to play and is willing to go to a side like Hartlepool to do so. It shows his huge enthusiasm fo rthe game.

Defianately, i always thought the same about Ferguson aswell.

Generational difference. Not really, I remember it but I'm fed up of hearing their self-righteous whining about it. Do you not think it is understandable though when people's lives were lost on that day. It was at the time. How about giving it a rest 20 years later (or however long it's been, I didn't check). Why should they give it a rest when justice hasn't been done. The families who had lost some one on that day, still feel the pain of what happened and people who survived are still traumatised.

Could do it without all the hypocrisy though Go on. Turning up in Athens for the CL final without tickets and ending up overcrowding the Away end The mocking of the Munich disaster, George Best's death and trashing OT The convenient sweeping over of the Wall pushing incident, don't hear them mention that very often, other than that one time they played Juve... Mostly the first one though fair point though on the second one as right as you are that those type of things are disgusting and have no place in football i think the majority of lfc fans would equally be disgusted by their own supporters.

I don't think either were e responsible for the incident but the sun covered it up.
