Currently having an argument with another NUFC fan and an Arsenal fan on another forum about Pardew, Ben Arfa, Mbiwa etc. According to the NUFC fan, Mbiwa is complete shite and that Pardew has treated Ben Arfa correctly. The Arsenal fan has labelled Debuchy as a terrible defender. I actually can't be arsed to argue this anymore.

There's no reason why we cannot get Bielsa. Well - Ashley is a reason I suppose, but as a club we could be attractive to Bielsa.

Not sure there is much comparing Robert and Ben Arfa. They are playing in completely different teams in terms of personnel and set up and under managers with different footballing outlooks. Put Ben Arfa in the SBR team and he'd have thrived and Robert would have struggled hugely in the current team.

Not really sure where the Dummett-storm has come from. I can't speak for everyone who doesn't rate Dummett, but from what I have seen it appears that quite a few people don't think Dummett is a Premiership quality LB for very justifiable reasons and think that Haidara is a better LB. This has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Dummett is local and Haidara isn't and that Haidara has therefore bewitched us with his Gallic charms - it is simply an analysis of their respective abilities. For example, I think Haidara possesses many of the qualities you want to see in a modern day full back that Dummett lacks - Haidara is quick, mobile, has good technique and can put a good cross in. To assume that views such as mine are some sort of anti-Geordie bias is ridiculous.

I'm not sure how people pointing out that Dummett shouldn't be playing instead of Haidara amounts to an attack on the North East.

He's young and has plenty of time to improve. He didn't have the best game last night but he was up against a quality winger. Give the lad time: yet more knee jerk reactions on here: no surprise there. People are saying throw in the youngsters and then immediately expect them to be top PL players. Ridiculous. I am not sure people are saying that at all. People are saying that we have two young left backs who are both better than Dummett and should be playing instead.

The difference being that Dummett never looks good on the ball at all, whereas Mbiwa usually does.
