Bet it was a classy sending off.
-
As someone else said, Campbell and Ferdinand were better players in an England shirt.

Appears Shola lived in Clapham Common for me..
-
Will struggle as long as he keeps scoring 2 per season. Might play for 15 more years though. Shola will never retire. He will get there..
-
Would love him to get to 100 career goals.

I admit that I haven't see endless replays of what happened in the Liverpool match, but it genuinely looked to me like Halsey got all of the big decisions right. Shelvey's tackle was appalling and a red card (to me, Evans' didn't look as bad). I couldn't see a penalty forthe challenges on Suarez or Sterling and it looked pretty clear to me that Johnson fouled Valencia (although Valencia clearly went down pretty easily). I assume I must have missed some Sky angle that showed these events completely differently from the reaction of Liverpool fans..?
-
What about all of the other teams in Europe though? I would argue that none of them have exactly looked at their best.
-
Beggars belief that the same old people were so quick to write him off. Might be worth just biding your time before the next scapegoat is found.

Think we might've been to Portugal. In two days, he got that healthy glow?
-
Has Pards been on holiday? looking tanned..
-
Great goal. Like one of Ba's against Norwich away.
-
Was slightly disappointed by his distribution last night. He seemed more guilty than most of looking for the long ball out of defence and midfield.
-
Cheers. So a crossover of outstretched arms would be offside, but a crossover of a big toe would be onside?
-
Possibly showing my ignorance of the offside rule here (it does seem to change quite a lot) - but is the offside rule based on any part of the body of the attacker and any part of the body of the defending player i.e. you don't use a type of athletics finish rule where the position of the torso is key? They used to have the 'clear air' rule, but I thought they got rid of that.

Not disputing that Krul is a better keeper - that is obvious. What I am saying is that there almost seems to be an assumption that Krul would have saved the two goals - despite the fact that they were pretty well struck shots.
-
I am not sure many keepers would have close to that? I don't we can look at every save that Harper does or doesn't make and then just assume that Krul would definitely have stopped it.
-
Demba Babar. That's good.
-
Conclusion - we missed Krul, but Harper did a decent job for a reserve keeper. Both goals were failrly well taken and Harper made some pretty good saves at times.
-
It is quite a well known phrase.
-
It almost like you want us to lose so you can tell us you were right all along.
-
Yeah I don't get this, you clearly see Pardew saying "bigi" on the blower, so maybe he changed his mind? Can't see Gabby throwing his toys out the pram tbh, not like he's the type of bloke to do that imo. He's not good enough to do it.
-
He didn't save the one that crossed the line though The disallowed goal in the first was the usual pathetic Harper push out to the opposition player. Chalked off so we got out of jail. Didn't save the disallowed goal in the second half. It was over the line. Pathetic at their second goal that counted. On the plus side he only kicked the ball out the park from bye kicks on a couple of occasions tonight. The disallowed one that Jelavic put away was a good save.

I meant the road of talking about the accounts again.
-
In the adapted words of Dale Winton - "Bring on the Accountants". As the Swiss Ramble has made pretty clear - we also aren't that wealthy. But I really don't want to go down that road again.

Being efficient with money doesn't mean being tight, which we clearly are. Simpson, the first choice right back, is probably leaving in January or for free next summer so replacing him this summer was a must. Considering he rejected the "final" contract months ago we would have known this was a priority. It all boils down to us continuing to be cheap, which is a scandal considering our net spend in the last few years. You call it "tight", many would call it not being moronic with money. It makes little sense to spend money on a player when the prospects of a much better signing soon becoming available are there, its a pretty simple concept to understand tbh. Just because you WANT something to happen doesnt mean its possible, situations sometimes have to be revised. You're talking with vague disatisfaction moreso than any well reasoned argument. Enough with the Q&A. We spent about £3million this summer If you think this is acceptable then you need to ask yourself where all the money goes we make. Like i said before, there is a considerable middle ground between being "moronic with money" and signing players we need, when we need them. You refusing to acknowledge this is bizarre and very blinkered to fit your/Pardew's agenda. Another injury or 2 tonight might wake you up? Does Mike trouser the cash? Yup. And spends it all in casinos apparently. But he must make loads back from Pardew's gambling, no?
