Assume we all had our heads in the sand all of last season when you kept banging the same old drum?

Pipe down. No one is interested. Seconded.

Nope, plays centrally, on paper furthest forward but drops deep, hence 'false no 9' description Am I right in thinking that that hasn't always been the case though? For example, when Etoo and Zlatan were there.

Not a Barca expert, but I thought Messi played nominally on the wing.

I'm not convinced that you get the best out of HBA by playing him in a central role. I personally think he would get a bit lost there.
  6. I don't think anyone is saying swearing should not be allowed, so it might be easier to realise that before people start banging on about protecting their right to swear, whilst trotting out all the old cliches about it being a man's game, traditionally working class, don't come if it offends etc etc. Yawn. All that is being suggested is that: a) being at a football match doesn't necessarily give you free reign to swear as much as you like and say whatever you like; and b) having a little bit of consideration to those around you may not go amiss. Please note - no-one is banning you from getting your fix of swearwords in.
  7. Wasn't so long ago you could have added violence and racism to that. Perhaps we should just tolerate it because it's a football match. MASSIVE difference between someone shouting racist abuse or being violent, compared to someone standing up and shouting "close him the f*** down" MASSIVE, If you want to sit in a crowd with no personality, you may as well watch it at home mate, with the lights off by yourself. Surely it depends on the context and what is being said? Or does anything go because it's football and we must preserve the right for people to swear at football...?
  8. He's got a point to be honest. I don't think anyone objects to some swearing, but if someone was swearing constantly during a match (not suggesting this is what KI was doing - we don't know the context), I'd think they were behaving pretty unreasonably.
  9. Wasn't disputing the offside call - just thought it was an un-Krul like mistake to make. So I wasn't sure if he had stopped playing.
  10. When Lukaku flicked that one in from an offside position, had Krul stopped playing or did he actually let the ball through his legs?
  11. I don't object to the principle of Simpson backing off as it can be the right decision in certain circumstances. What annoys me is that he is never tight enough to the attacker to make it an effective tactic. You can't just back off to the edge of the penalty area and defend from there. Would love to know what they say to Simpson during their video analysis sessions.
  12. I really don't think he played that badly yesterday. Or indeed this season. I am trying to work whether he runs with the ball less due to a decline in his physical abilities or under instruction. Yesterday when he was in the middle he looked like he had been told to hold. And for all his faults at full back - I am beginning to think I would rather have him there than Simpson.

That was my interpretation. We played well in the first half and were the better team. 2nd half was not good.

You honestly agree with a statement saying Pardews now a joke? Im bloody sad if thats now our fans viewpoint after a poor start. And people were amazed hes our 3rd longest serving manager in recent times Whats amazing about it? I'm not arguing with someone who doesn't appear to have eyes. He's bang-on tbh. Pardew's a loss away from 'Pardew Out' threads at the moment, which would be ridiculous and over-the-top. Not denying that he really needs to re-evaluate his management this year, because there's been numerous occasions this season where he's done something wrong. Spot on. Some of kneejerks here are outstanding.
  15. That woman booing with the thumbs down.. ha ha.
  16. If anything, I think Pardew mentions the clause to shift the pressure onto Ba to declare his intentions early.
  17. Spot on. There is no way that clubs don't know that the clause is reactivated in January. His agents will have made it known. The idea that Pards is giving away some big secret is laughable.
  18. Only saw him in his second spell for us and he was absolutely brilliant. Goal that stands out most for me was against Palace away in 1994.

Bulking him, like Ferguson, won't necessarily make him lose pace or agility if it is done properly.
  20. It would just be an incredibly divisive move and possibly only make things worse.
  21. There are some pretty decent teams in this competition. I know it is obviously far more exciting when your team is involved, but it is amazing that this competition is so badly thought of. I really hope that we take it seriously if we get out of the group stage.
  22. Peacock was quite a bit better than Howey. In fact, Peacock was massively underrated by most.

If he is persistently in breach of his contract, there shouldn't be any reason as to why he can't be fired.
