Yeah we had no restrictions on what we were able to shout a teammates. Don't think the US is an advanced enough footballing nation for us to catch onto confusing opponents like that.

I think there are different rules in the UK for what you're allowed to shout/say compared to over here. Or at least that's what my English coach told me years ago. Either way, keepers are yelling something when they claim a ball in the air.

Same reason they shout "mine" when going to claim the ball, I always assumed. It's not like defenders always know what the keeper behind them is doing. Better to have more communication than none.

I was only in Liverpool briefly but i thought it was great. Felt welcomed on a night out and the next day when we accidentally walked into an Everton pub while my s/o had a Liverpool scarf on. Honestly surprised how willing northerners are to call other northern cities shit. Honestly it's just dumb to have a new home kit every year. I liked that we used to be one of the few teams giving them two year cycles years ago, but even that is excessive. It was one of the hardest things for me to adjust to coming from American sports. Now it's a little different over here where jerseys are being changed once or twice a decade plus a bunch of alternates and throwbacks. But that's much more sustainable then asking kit makers to come out with multiple new designs every season for every team they work with all while keeping in mind the tradition of each shirt. You're bound to get some seriously ugly or bland ones at that rate. It ruins some great shirts too, the good designs deserve multiple seasons of use.
