    Hatem Ben Arfa

Nicely done. Off topic, but you should see the place Cantona lived in when he was in Manchester, man. Literally a modest semi. Albeit in the same gorgeous area where I happen to reside. I remember seeing his house on tv. I'm guessing around the time he jumped into the crowd at selhurst park. I was actually amazed, and quite impressed that a footballer of such standing would still live in a house like my mam and dads. Re Hatem, i read the other day he's living at the jesmond dene. I'd be more hopeful of him staying if he'd buy a house in the area. Sure it wasn't the article that says he has breakfast there every morning? Ah could have been.
  2. I thought his corners in the first few games were excellent. I remember saying thank fuck ryan taylor isn't on corners anymore.

  5. Couldn't agree more. Calls us a "self styled big club" then spins out the old geordie expectations cliches. And at the bottom of the piece he's saying due to our stadium size and support base we're better placed than anyone for champions league football.
  6. Since the switch to 433 Ba has spent plenty of time as the central striker, against Swansea in particular Cisse done much of the denfensive work on the left. If we stick at it and those two keep swapping duties i've no doubt at all Ba will find his form.

"they never write aboute Sess like that":lol: Oh jesus, my fucking hernia.
  8. If we win our next two games my arse will be nipping. Because champions leage football will most likely be in our hands. As others have said, whatever happens now it's been a fantastic season. The best for a decade, but in some ways feels even better due to it's unexpected nature. We've been written off for about 8 months now and we just keep proving people wrong. Europa league will do me, be it 5th place or 6th. I just refuse to get carried away.
  9. The last fe games i've been saying i'd take 1-0. So i'll say it again, i'd take 1-0.

The two clowns next to me slated ben arfa for the first 72 minutes, every time he got the ball he should have either passed / ran at the defender / something else he didn't do. Then when he spun rickets i said to prick #1 "we're in here". Didn't see that goal coming mind.
  11. I've been to plenty of away games, not so much these last few years but i've never been to a really big european stadium. So yes, bring it on!

    Alan Pardew

If Pards can turn Obertan into a decent footballer it'll be a fucking miracle. Beyond a miracle. It would make Jesus look like an amatuer.
  13. I'd take 1-0 to be honest. I'll be at the game, first time since wolves so i'm hoping for a good performance but 3 points is the most important thing.
  14. Do they compliment though? They have the potential to be a Cole/Yorke type partnership. That worked because Yorke was happy with his role as the 2nd striker. Not sure Demba will be so happy in the role? Why not? Since he has played there we have won 4 in a row. What wont he be happy about? Personal glory Don't forget his contract is apparently heavily incentivised When he signed we were lead to believe that his contract was heavily incentivised on playing. A decent basic then a big lift if he plays, due to the knee issue.

    Papiss Cissé

His first few game (and goals) for us seemed to be first time shots. Or at least he didn't have much time to think about what he was doing. And when he did have time, there were several one on ones with the keeper that he missed. So it was encouraging to see two goal like todays. As if we needed encouraging.

    Papiss Cissé

In the split second between the ball leaving his foot and it hitting the net, i couldn't work out what was happening. I thought he's sky'ed it, then i thought he's just mis hit it. Superb finish.
  17. Leon Britton is up there with the best passers in europe, the Xavi of the valleys. Hardly fucking surprising when every pass goes two yards / backwards. If they won a penalty he'd probably lay the cunt off!

    Hatem Ben Arfa

A few weeks back i was concerned Ben Arfa would leave in the summer. He was barely playing and when a big foreign clun innevitably came in for him who could have blamed him for leaving. I think now it's fairly obvious to anyone with eyes he absolutely has to stay.
  19. I've been highly critical of simpson in the past but i thought he played well today. No errors and a few well timed challenges.
  20. Imagine how good we'd be right now if he'd stayed? Oh well, never mind Jose.

    James Perch

If you go in with your head like that, you're off. No complaints. Dissapointing reaction from Perch though, tainted anothwise excellent performance. If the likes of Suarez and co want to hurl themselves to the ground then that's unfortunate, i'd rather our players didn't.

I noticed Suarez defending loads in the first half, trying to protect Enrique. Something that won't show up on any stats but having them shit scared of Ben Arfa definately made them less of a threat. Lovely.
  23. Ashley needs to move mountains to keep him.

Did he skin enrique, or did enrique fall over? I was laughing too hard to see.
