They can opt out, but they don't get considered for when they reach a final of a cup despite how many points they've acquired. Know a mate's dad who was stung by that. We have a marketplace thingy on the intranet at work and it's always full with Man United tickets, everytime there's a cup or champions league game even there's literally dozens of tickets going cheap. £50 face value seats going for £15 to £20.

Obertan is absolue fucking garbage, the worst player i have ever seen at NUFC. Technically he has several good attributes, however his complete lack of heart - in fact fuck that it's outright cowardice makes him a nothing footballer. It won't change my views on Ashleys / the clubs ambition, it's a carefully planned outlay vs return scenario. The man is prepared to fork out money when, and only when he can see a return on it. The only reason for finishing higher up the table is you net £500,000 per place. The fact is that Ashley has delivered plenty of good signings and will probably still do so, the problem is he won't do it as often or go as high as we would like, and in the meantime he'll throw in a couple of catastrophic errors in other areas of the club. The problem is we don't sign players to address squad weaknesses, we sign them because we think they'll appreciate in worth. Given the hoofball tripe that Pardew has served up the last two years i would have thought signing Andy Carroll was a complete no brainer, but the wages and transfer fee made it un workable for Ashley. So we'll piss about offering peanuts for Bent (he's not going up in value) and offer a decent fee for Gomis because there's potential to recoup the cash.

Have we not gone from a situation where during the first year Ashley was in charge he was pledging iirc £35mil of his own money, year on year. To now where he's skimming the profits to pay back his own interest free loan. That leaves us upwards of £40mil a year worse off, with an owner who has zero ambition beyond getting his money back. We're absolutely fucked until this bloke moves on.

So in effect we're not debt free at all. It's just there's a hidden debt which incurs no interest. Like when you borrow money off yer mam.
