Disagree with early bit there. He is Premier League standard with the ball at his feet, but not just one that you'd expect at a top club. He could easily fit in any defence of the clubs down the bottom half of the league. We probably need not only a fresh pair of legs in the team but also fresh minds. Different approach and leadership just to shake things up. Trippier's form has been declining and perhaps his control of the lads as well. Lascelles has given his fair share of commitment down the years. Even got into bust ups with teammates so he is commanding for sure. Schar and Lascelles worked well last season so thats a positive. You're right @STM. Schar and Botman are fucking wank at setplays. I'd be tempted to play Lascelles in home games against the likes of Wolves. He does have leadership qualities, gets players and the crowd motivated. Botman and Burn can have a rest too if needed.

Would have cared more for this fixture if our defence were as strong as it was before the turn of the year. Since the Fulham game, eventhough we still hadn't conceded, the backline started to feel wobbly right until the clean sheet run was ended and it has continued ever since. Thanks for that mate. Looks like there may only be slight drop in the numbers, but that may also explain or be a factor in our number of goals also declining. We've had players in decent and reasonable areas outside the box to have a shot at goal but they instead pass it around and sideways trying to force themselves in to the box but eventually lose possession. With the form of Wilson right now, it maybe wotrth having a crack at goal from distance when in good sight rather trying to force ourselves to find the right ball for Wilson.

Think now that we have Targett back, Burn, Botman and Schar can rotate that CB position as the 3 of them look knackered mentally at the minute. So 2 play, 1 can be on the bench.

At the top of my head, the last time we scored from range was Bruno at Southampton and Willock against Chelsea at home. We are trying to play the ball around the box without any shots ending the move. Its utterly frustrating and I'm sure this was not the case before the World Cup. What has changed in our policy for shooting from range?

I went on a few threads after the game last night and said we are not having shots at goal as we had previously and this guy is one of them. Many chances to pull the trigger, instead he either further dribbles it or passes it. He has the ability. Look at his goals against Watford last season and againts Wolves earlier this season.
