This might interest some of the tactic nerds: https://medium.com/villa-2022-23-tactical-analysis/gw1-newcastle-aston-villa-f3383c46535e

Its not going to happen, but if Liverpool lose both Salah and Alisson

I've been waiting all fucking day, and that's all you can come up with. I'm disappointed Froggster, your standards as slipping

I'm going to hazard a guess and say this is bullshit?

It was a really odd game in general in some respects, we deservedly won, and as we where the better team overall, but Villa had their chances which could have swung the game either way (Watkins miss immediately after the Mings injury, Cash missing an open goal in the second half etc), but at the same time we could and maybe should have scored 7/8. The First half was odd, as it was really frantic for the first 20 minutes or so, it was end to end and both teams where playing at 70mph, but as soon as Mings got injured the game got really flat and not a whole lot happened, you could argue in that time Villa "had the better of things" but they didn't really do anything with it, and we where comfy defensively. Second half we just asserted ourselves, and where on top throughout, due to the tactical changes made by Emery backfiring, us being more mentally switched on, and our superior fitness showing. We were deserved winners though, and there is no arguing that fact.

30 points, that is a really solid start for mid table mediocrity, will take it. Gameweek 2 Forest 2 v 0 Sheff United Fulham 1 v 3 Brentford Liverpool 1 v 1 Bournemouth Wolves 1 v 1 Brighton Spurs 2 v 1 Man United Man City 3 v 2 Newcastle Villa 2 v 0 Everton West Ham 0 v 2 Chelsea Palace 2 v 2 Arsenal

Hall at LB would be perfect from what i've seen of him. Really young, already at a high level, and with lots of room for improvement, for £30m that would be a no brainer imo.

This is a bit shit, but I still enjoyed it

Only the price of our whole club

£821m in three transfer windows Chelsea spent the same amount that the Saudis bought us on three players, Caicedo, Fernandez and Fofana

How many points would people be content with us achieving by the end of the Brentford game? 9 points on the board and i'd think that'd be a really good return tbh.

It's clearly an attempted joke, but I'm not sure why we're on his mind immediately after a game we had no involvement in

If you look at other clubs highlights, it's exactly the same, so I'm guessing there is some sort of regulation in place that clubs are only allowed to show a certain amount of footage etc. As an example here's Man City's extended highlights from Friday: https://youtu.be/nwjfxKsG4AY

Is that this season you think that, or last? Or both?

I don't pertain to know much about the career of Lukaku, but you don't get universally hated by the fans of Chelsea, Inter Milan, Man United and Everton for no reason. He may be a really clinical finisher, but everything that revolves around him just makes trusting him really hard for managers and clubs to do.
