He's not a bad captain imo. Put in decent captain's performances in the early stages of the season when Colo was injured, and led the team with his work ethic and Adolf Hitler impersonations when organizing the defense. Everyone just suffered a major drop in form since the West Ham game. With him being the least skilled of the senior midfielders, he began getting loads of stick as we struggled to create chances then. I agree that he's totally out of his depth at the moment, but he's certainly not as bad as some people here claim to be.

Find it rather sad really that a few seasons ago, we seemed to be a team of captains with Nolan, Barton, etc. How we could use players of their passion and leadership abilities now.

I think Krul's a genuine dark horse like. Maybe young but always seems to go in the right spirit, has the never-say-die attitude and commands his area and back four well for a young lad. Pretty much an adopted Geordie as well.

I wish we had winter breaks. We're in the type of hole that seems to be crying out for any prolonged rest and reprieve.

Have an iffy feeling that Colo will be subbed and he'd symbolically pass on the armband to a returning Jonas.

We can make Taylor club captain and Cabaye team captain. As mentioned in the previous thread, Spurs did the same with Ledley King and Robbie Keane. Taylor's really the best option IMO when you're talking about natural leadership material and being Mr. Newcastle, just that he'll be lucky to get 20 games a season.
