  1. No I think they would have sold but at a ludicrous asking price. £6b was their figure. Qatar offered £5b and refused to go higher. Bear in mind this is when the club had a market valuation is under £3b. They basically priced everyone out of a full sale because they wanted to keep milking it. Ratcliffe was the better option for them.
  2. Glazers didn't want to sell the whole club. They'd have taken the Qatar offer otherwise. Don't think Ratcliffe could have afforded it either.
  3. Zero chance he's there if we lose the next two.
  4. I think he's in danger now to be honest. He'll either be sacked tomorrow or he'll get the next two games to turn it around. There were such clear patterns of improved play this season too. But the team just has the tendency to collapse and we get a hiding, and it happens too often. He's got the time I thought he deserved, but times up for any excuses. He's in huge trouble.
  5. That's when he gets into it. Ten Hag tends to play Rashford over him and that's going to be his downfall.
  6. Oh Fernandes, sorry. My heads up my arse. It'll be a loser, just like Fernandes.
  7. Anyone who thinks it's a red has never played the game. Simple as that. Bet they're all 300 pounds and bedridden.
  8. Have I? I would say my post history nothing but positive about Howe.
  9. It's obviously a disgrace of a decision, but Fernandes has been atrocious for weeks so it wouldn't have mattered. Spurs should be out of sight. Van Nistelrooy 11/4 for next manager. Put the house on it.
  10. Trick question. They weren't allowed to play any style.
  11. Newcastle 1-3 Man City Arsenal 2-0 Leicester Brentford 2-1 West Ham Chelsea 2-1 Brighton Everton 1-1 Palace Forest 1-1 Fulham Wolves 0-2 Liverpool Ipswich 1-2 Villa Man United 2-2 Spurs Bournemouth 2-1 Southampton
  12. Refs were biased in favour of Newcastle though. Sure Shearer kicked Neil Lennon in the head and didn't even get a yellow.
  13. We finished level on points with you last season, but we've added £180m worth of signings into an already decent squad and got rid of some deadwood. Younger players like Hojlund, Amad, Garnacho, Mainoo etc. are going to be improving every minute. I genuinely think it's madness to hand Howe the same squad and expect him to finish above us because we had a bad season last year.
  14. Brighton just spent £180m. Unless we're Kaka or TCD, I think it's hard to say how good Brighton's squad is, as we don't know how good some of those signings could be.
  15. Who are you competing with for Europe though? Villa, Chelsea, Spurs, Brighton and us? A couple of those sides had bad injuries last year too, but have also strengthened in the window.
  16. You can't play every season with the worry that you will lose x and y if you don't have a good year IMO, otherwise the manager is always walking on eggshells. If Isak, Bruno and Gordon want to leave, it's £200m+ to spend on the squad. With the right people at the top like Ashworth Mitchell, you can do amazing things with that money.
  17. I agree, but personally think Howe has banked at least another season after this, unless it's a total disaster. I've always been supportive of longevity. Howe has basically been given the same team and told to finish higher? There's actually a debate that better players have been sold than signed. I think expectations are unrealistic to be honest.
  18. So do Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Man United, Villa and Chelsea though. I'm sure Brighton will fancy it as well. The league is deadly.
  19. I suppose I'm not exactly a neutral, but I see Howe getting top 6 with your squad as a good season. Your first eleven is strong, but the "big 6" sides have better strength in depth. I read a few posts recently that if Howe didn't get top 6 he should be sacked. Found it a bit mental to be honest.
  20. Ashworth available for £30m lads.
  21. I've told you before. It might take one year, it make take five years, but I'll win you over eventually.
  22. Because there was no intent to hurt the player and he played the ball. I'm admittedly unsure of the rules, but since he hasn't touched the player at all, I don't see how it can be a red? Where's Howard Webb to clear this up.
