  1. We're now 28/1 to win the league too.
  2. How ridiculous is that like? Missed one of our best players because he decided to be a fat wee fuck.
  3. Moyes record at us: P23 W12 D6 L5 Mourinho record since coming back to Chelsea: P23 W14 D4 L5
  4. Fair enough, respect your support. But I think that Moyes will really struggle to get the club to the level that Ferguson had them at when he left. Let alone move them forward. You're welcome to come back and beat me if I'm wrong. Aye it's a valid opinion based on what is happening right now. I'm just not going to abandon support of the manager because a few results haven't gone our way. The Newcastle result was the first real worrying one for me, because we were outplayed and deservedly beaten on our own pitch while barely creating anything. You don't want any side doing that be it Newcastle or Real Madrid. It's a massive learning curve for him, but I reckon he'll get into the Champions League and we can build from there, starting with a creative central midfielder. If we don't manage that he could be in trouble but I hope he'll get another season to prove his worth. You've seen how a majority of our fans react after a few losses in the league though. Imagine them if we finished say sixth or seventh. He'll be under immense pressure. There's nothing that can be done about that group of fans too. Maybe if we have a few bad years they'll jump ship like a lot of you expect them to.
  5. I'm fairly sure he would have been our second choice but I don't think he would have com I wasn't a fan of this whole sabbatical stuff anyway. I mean, he was a Barcelona player for years and years, and was loved by players and fans alike, yet let his contract expire stating tiredness as a reason despite being their most successful manager of all time. I can see him being like Mourinho anyway and wanting to win trophies in every country and therefore not staying very long at a particular club. I'd imagine we'll see him in both Italy and England before he hits 55.
  6. Aye phenomenal achievement with Porto and he's been a big success at all of the clubs he's been at. I'm not trying to take anything away from him or trying to say we're above him. I just don't think he was right for us. At the same time, look at Chelsea. Great manager coming into a familiar set up, tons of cash, a much better squad than ours and they're five points off Arsenal. We're eight behind Chelsea. Mourinho should be looked at now too for his performance. I do have confidence in Moyes though. This job will take time. He'll get it. He has only played 15 league games after all. The teams performances elsewhere have been fine.
  7. We could have had Mourinho if we wanted. Longevity is the main reason why he wasn't suitable. He has always spent a lot of money where he has went as well, and while we won't be shy in the market, he won't have the spending power he had/has at Chelsea, Madrid and Inter. Moyes is the man.
  8. It's rotten here anyway. Fire a Subway my way though. Ameritoon appreciates me giving him pizza. Need to get him in here. I'm back in Ireland in February, I'll be more than happy to take advantage of you then.
  9. It's rotten here anyway. Fire a Subway my way though.
  10. i.e., Wullie and Incognito.
  11. Maybe he just liked the colour red? He could have supported us! Wahey. There's a lot of people on here GC with a strong stance to glory hunters, even if you're not one. They're good lads though. I got slaughtered in my first year. Your reason is a lot more acceptable than mine for starting to support a club too. I should have lied http://media.joe.ie/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/moyes-out-2.jpg I trust Moyes though, all joking aside. He needs a couple of seasons. No Europe would be devastating though.
  12. Well done lads. Fully deserved. Can't believe there were boos at the final whistle. Fuck sake man.
  13. Would have been a harsh pen for me as well like, and if he gives the pen he has to give a red.
  14. Clearly unintentional but good thing Tiote wasn't coming in any harder for that tackle on Jones. Could have been a nasty one.
  15. Nice from Tiote there. Didn't shoot and played a decent deceptive pass.
  16. This is what we're lacking in comparison to our teams from a few years ago. If that was Scholes coming onto that instead of Cleverley it was a goal. Good play though from Cleverley to set Nani away and to get into a good position. Good start.
  17. such a silly bet when you're missing RVP and Rooney. I'm a clown.
  18. He really is. He's a top poacher. I feel sorry for him to be honest as he has done nothing wrong and it's simply a case of our other striker being better than he is. Our normal 4-2-3-1 system leaves no room for him and even if we play with a 4-4-2 it's going to be a Rooney/RVP combination. This is a chance for him with them out though. Last season we beat Newcastle on Boxing Day to go seven points clear at the top. This December we're hoping for a win to go 9 points behind, and that's unlikely. Contrast!
  19. Yeah it's been the case for a while now. He's been our biggest threat except for Rooney. I'd like to see him as a right winger cutting inside but Valencia should start and he's useless anywhere else but right back, mainly because he lost his left foot when he was a child. At the same time I've put Welbeck as a perfectly viable second option for the left wing, since he'll drop into midfield and help out, which could be necessary against Cabaye/Sissoko/Tiote. If Nani does get another game hopefully he has a good one. There's no in between with him. He's either brilliant or shite.
